This hotel is shut and should not be on sale. Chained up doors. I was only let in when I spotted someone going in to dilapidated building. Otherwise I'd have been left with no room.
There was someone on a reception desk in a corridor. I was told I would go to another hotel in a taxi, but it was a long while before they could tell me its name. I wasn't going to get in a taxi without knowing my destination. Eventually they showed me the hotel. I turned down the taxi and walked the ten minutes there. The hotel had changed name, there was a room. The staff were nice, but it had peeling wallpaper and marked sheets. I had paid more than £300 for one night.
This would have been a very scary experience for a more vulnerable lone traveller.
