We arrived after a two hour drive from Ella. The town itself was busy as it was a local holiday. The town is not really worth seeing full of run down shops and market stalls and wine shops. The racourse is worth a visit if races are on. We spent two nights and visited the Grand hotel which is only 5 minutes walk away. The hotel has great value for dinner with good food from Pizza to local curry. We drove to Horton Plains and did the 9 klm walk. Some very nice views but watching the locals walking was of interest also. We saw deer and a gecko and that was the wildlife but this walk is more for the views. Check out the Indian restaurant and coffee bar dowfrom the Grand hotel for good food also. This hotel provides free driver accommodation. The staff were excellent, so polite and couldn't do enough for us. We met the chef on our last day he was great. Overall good value for money but is 3 star.
Extremely clean, spacious room and big bed, great bathroom (shower only). Quiet location close to Grand Hotel. Can hear other people due to the design, ie marble floors etc.
Good location only a 20 minute walk into the town. Breakfast was tasty with a number of choices. Can be chilly in the evening so the electric heater was nice to warm to room up and the bed was comfy. They lock up at 10pm but there isn't much to do in town by that time so it wasn't an issue being back by then.
We spent one night here. Nuwara Eliya is a little gem anyway, this place was also great. Some sights are very near (The Grand Hotel, Grand Indian, City Park, post office), just a few minutes walk. The rooms are spacious and clean. No aircon needed, it is never really hot in Nuwara Eliyay.
We stayed one night at this small hotel, which is in a lane close to Grand Hotel and Victoria Park, a short walk from the golf club, main market etc. The room was nice, clean and spacious with a comfortable bed, more than good value for money. The breakfast could be improved a bit considering how few rooms/guests there can be at Villa Cassandra, but still I do not hesitate to recommend staying here.
Nuwara es un pequeño pueblo con sabor británico. Una recomendación : Tomar el High tea en el Hotel Grand. Te traslada a Inglaterra en un marco tropical
The hotel was a bit hard to find but it was nice and quiet at night (we were there on a holiday so there was a bit of noise in the early evening). It was walking distance to good restaurants. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and there was comfortable furniture (maybe a bit too much) in the room so you could relax without having to sit on the bed.
The drain in the bathroom did have a bit of a smell but it might have been that the pipes were dry. The shower had good pressure.
We left very early the first morning for Horton Plains so they packed a breakfast for us, which was great. Breakfast the next day at the hotel was simple but good.
La habitación es enorme, limpia y comodísima. La gente es muy amable, y el desayuno el
Mejor que nos han servido en toda nuestra estancia por distintas ciudades de Sri Lanka. Calidad-precio excelente.
