We really enjoyed our stay. It was about a half hour from the airport nice and quiet on the water beautiful lake. Breakfast was great. Sat outside enjoying the scenery.
Wow - I don't know how this hotel does it for the price. Beautiful surroundings & only 35 minutes from the airport so perfect for an early flight - so much better than an airport hotel! Relaxing, modern, friendly service and good food. Highly recommended!
Beautiful setting. Professional staff. Was expecting a hotel and spa to be quiet and relaxing but the music and noise at night made it difficult to sleep.
Quiet far from the airport and the city. Hotel is very nice with a beautiful mountain and lake view. Breakfast buffet is superb; however, with limited dining on lunch and buffet.
A wonderful stay from start to finish. We absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone. The hotel and our room were really comfortable - it just had a really relaxing atmosphere.
We paid to access the spa and our 24-hour access meant we could use it both on the day arrived and the following day before leaving. The floating sauna was the highlight. We went back to the sauna before breakfast the day we were leaving to find it locked. The receptionist explained that they didn’t usually fire it up on weekdays when they weren’t busy but she was happy to turn it on for us if we could wait an hour. What excellent service.
We had pre-booked dinner in the hotel - the food was absolutely superb. There is a great choice of wines and beers on draft and their own beer is available in bottles.
Though the spa and dinner were added costs, our room rate was very good value and included breakfast. All in all, worth every penny and we would definitely go back.
The grounds and the setting are extremely well thought out and welcoming. I knew to expect issues, as when I called to confirm our massages, I was advised they were never booked into the system and there was no appointments left that day. No apologies - that's just the way things are. We arrived early and were told we needed to wait until 3pm to checkin- no issues - but it was obvious we were seniors. We were then told, our room was on the 3rd floor and we needed to walk and carry our luggage there. Why - there were vacant rooms on the other side of the hotel where the elevator was working. I found the check-in person would not reason with me - ie your room is over there. It's too bad, this person was on the front desk and left this impression.
It's a lovely property and has so much to offer
Extremely nice location! Fun art and nice spa.
Staff needs more training they obviously did not have much experience or training in informing customers. On several occasions their lack of information made the stay cumbersome. Usually hotel and restaurant staff takes their time with the customers to make the stay as good as possible. These did not. They were however friendly when asked.
Also, scary ice just outside the entrance door.
Room was clean enough but had areas that needed dusting. General maintenance was good and facilities are well kept.
Spa is good value and is a great bonus to the hotel.
Great area, close enough to Oslo to make it an easy trip during the day.
Alternative places to eat in the area are all 30 minutes or so away though.
Views are incredible and make the overall stay more than worthwhile.
Very good service. Do be aware that pool entrance is extra. It is not clear from Hotels.com.
The restaurant has super service but the food is terrible and very expensive. It was so embarrassing. They provide you with recommendations for wines to the food, but even simple French fries were screwed up. Pretentious and the chef was just a disgrace.
We did however get a discount of the food, so the waiter did a good job. But still super bad experience.
Sandra (at the reception) and Mark (Dinning room) were great!
Sandra was very attentive and always had a very good energy, an upbeat and welcoming smile and helped us get around. They didn't have a bartender that night, but she tried to satisfy my needs by looking up how to make my drink and she made it! She Aldo helped us get the application to pay for bus tickets.
Mark was also very attention-detail person. With patience and good listening skills (because we didn't speak Norwegian), he took the time to make recommendations and bring our food. We were very please with his attention.
Now, onto my only opportunity for improvement for the hotel :
Please consider making available a shuttle to Eidsvoll Verk (the station where you take the bus to/from the hotel's closest bus stop). It's ok if its has a cost, but make it available!! Why? The bus service is very Intermittent and very spaced out, in such way, that you can't rely if you need to go back to OSL airport. I am sure guest traveling without a car are willing to pay.
