Beautiful property. Very nicely furnished. Excellent beds. Very quiet but two blocks away from the main square. Easy parking. Friendly owners. We hope to come back.
We usually stay there when we travel to Dordogne
Everything is perfect. Welcome by the owners. Beauty of the building and decoration. The restaurant is of a high level!!I do recommend this hotel.
Hotel casi en abandono. Habitaciones muy antiguas , sin aire acondicionado y lo peor plaga de mosquitos en la habitación. No he tenido una buena experiencia, no volvería ni recomendaría este hotel.
Really enjoyed our stay it's like coming home. Adrian is very friendly and accommodating. Attentive service at breakfast meant coffee never ran out. Gave me some pointers for the local tyre companies (I had a flat on the way down)
I perused the other reviews and whole-heartedly agree that this hotel is a gem! The owners are the perfect couple for this endeavour. They treat guests like family. We couldn't have been more pleased and our only regret is that we didn't have longer to stay. We were unfortunately unable to have dinner at the hotel restaurant due to the bank holiday but understand that the chef has extremely high credentials. Wish we could have spent several days ....
We had a wonderful time here, Sharon and Adrian gave us a really lovely warm and friendly welcome and were so kind and helpful during our stay. The hotel is charmingly French with a mix of cosy Britishness. Lovely big and spotlessly clean rooms with comfortable beds and everything you need for a great stay. The restaurant in the hotel is fantastic too and we loved Thiviers and all the beautiful surrounding towns and villages. We’ll definitely be back!
I stayed here several years ago when Nicola was the owner.
Staying again for two nights, 6-8 June 2018, I could not believe how much better the hotel is now.
Adrian and Sharon have made enormous changes which make the hotel even more special. I was upgraded to Room 5 which was wonderful - especially the brand new bed which was so comfortable. Thank you Adrian and Sharon.
The restaurant was an absolute delight in lovely surroundings. The food was excellent and not surprising knowing chef Nicolas' background.
I was pleased to make some happy new memories and would definitely want to stay again. Dermot Williams.
The hotel is a beautiful historic building with lots of character and original features. The owners and staff couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly, with recommendations of what to do in the local area (including canoeing in Brantome and a visit to Oradour-sur-Glane, near Limoges). The hotel itself is conveniently located for local towns, villages and castles, including Brantome, Saint-Jean-de-Cole and Jumilhac-le-Grand.
We had a room on the top floor, which unfortunately was overly warm despite there being a fan in the room. I'm also aware that the owners are in the process of renovating the rooms over a period of time.
All in all, a very welcoming and comfortable stay with friendly and helpful staff and a tasty breakfast on the terrace!
