This property was the best Ryoken hotel I've ever stayed at! The manager helped us get to Kawaguchiko station to start our hike on Mt.Fuji and provided us breakfast to go ❤️! I recommend this place over any other if you're looking around the area to stay. Thank you for all that you do, we appreciate you!!!!
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel in Japanese style. Nice room, lovely breakfast and a delicious dinner.
The privat bath was hot and relaxing. The hotelowner was very helpful and he even took us on trip around the lake in the morningbto see the sunrise over Mt Fiji.
I really recommend this place and would love to come back.
The place was beautiful. The owners were also extremely friendly, they offered to drive us to any restaurant in the area if we didn’t want to eat at a place within walking distance. Breakfast was also delicious and traditional. They also helped us get a bus reservation to our next destination and drove us to the bus stop. Highly recommend!
The location of the hotel is a few minutes away from the lake and the bus stop. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. He took us to a few spots to see MT Fuji when he knew we have no car. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious and we had authentic Japanese cuisine experiences.
It is a very lovely homestay - super yummy food (they must have a chef), very kind and helpful host, very chill and comfortable environment. We feel welcomed and well looked after. My son enjoyed it so much, he fed the fishes in the garden multiple times, and also feed the swans at the lake, at the recommendation of the host grandpa!
It's not a luxury hotel, but definitely worth every penny you pay.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
We decided to try a Ryokan for 1 night. Keep in mind this is a rating for Ryokan.
Room: The description shows shared baths, but our room had a toilet and sink. The showers are shared and are located with the bath (onsens) and there are 2 for 5 rooms. There is no hot water in the room sinks. We were there during winter and the toilet/sink area and the sitting areas get too cold. The mini-split can't keep up with keeping the room warm unless you close off those rooms. The futons are very thin so if you have a bad back, you will not sleep well. They also enter your room to set up the futons during dinner so keep in mind, this level of service is common and normal I would presume.
Meals: I wouldn't recommend staying at a Ryokan unless you did the half board. The meals are amazing. A lot you will not like, but its traditional Japanese. The service during dinner was the best we've had.
Conclusion - the meal and service at this hotel greatly overshadows the rooms, which to be honest should not be compared to a 4 star hotel. Great experience for 1 night.
Very helpful staff, we did stay for one night unfortunately, if we could stay another a night it would have given us the opportunity to rest and enjoy the surrounding area some more. Very peaceful and tranquil, the Hippopo boat ride was fun.
Super fun place, very traditional. We had some trouble finding it as the provided address wasn't exact. The manager spoke some English and was very helpful. We had to postpone our hike to mount Fuji because of a storm, but the manager offered to drive us to a view point after the weather cleared up. He also offered to book us a shuttle to our next destination. The included half-board was great! Awesome place in a small little town.
Teiensaryo Yamanakako is an awesome place to stay. The Kaiseki dinner was so fresh and good. There a shared onsen bathroom which you can use as individual or family.
The inn is located conveniently to the lake and bus station.
If you are driving, there is free parking at the inn.
We enjoyed our stay very much at Teinsaryo and would highly recommend this place.
Beyond amazing! The owner doesn't speak much English, but he went out of his way to make our stay amazing. We arrived a little outside the check-in hours, but they stayed up for us and kept one of the large baths open so we could wash up in the onsen-like bath before bed (it's customary to shower/bathe before bed and the owners stay up to close-up the large bath/onsen at night. So it was really going above and beyond to keep the bath running for us when we came in so late). I also have wheat, dairy, and fish allergies. They were able to accommodate these and made an amazing breakfast! I wish I stayed longer b/c the food was divine! They also let me feed the koi fish and took us on a short tour for the best views of Mt Fuji. It's an older ryokan so the room has a tatami smell which is common, but some foreigners might not expect. But I very highly recommend staying here!! They are so kind and helpful and the accommodations were great!!
