A very nice place to stay as a base whilst visiting around the beautiful island. Its not far from Funchal by BOLT taxi service and close to airport too, so not difficult to travel to the main centre.

Lovely Madeira Hotel

The view from our room was beautiful. The room was very clean, and the housekeepers were lovely. The hotel is slightly dated and could do with a good refurb however it was a good base for our trip. The breakfast was nice too! Well located with only 10 min drive from the airport and 10 mins away from Funchal. Bolt and Uber were both available in the area which we used to get around as it’s very cheap! Also only a short walk from Cristo Rei which can actually be seen from the reception area.

Lovely hotel

Absolutely enjoyed our stay with my boys and their football team at the tournament in Madeira. The hotel was lovely, breakfast was lovely, views was amazing, the rooms were beautiful and very clean condition. Definitely recommend this hotel for anyone.

I can highly recommend. The room was in cleanliness - the service was top-notch and I really liked the morning breakfast. If they can start offering wi-fi in the room, then I would give it a full 5-stars. Apart from that, I am very impressed by the service and location provided by the hotel.

Positives were a nice pool and convenient breakfast buffet. Negatives were bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable and the noise was excessive all hours of the night into the early morning. Motorcycles flying by, car noises all hours, people in hotel playing load music, drunk people yelling on the street until 4am. Not only is it loud the walls a paper thin you can hear conversations next door and down the hall. There are no fans or AC to help with the noise or comfort of thjs place. I would never book again.

This property is perfect for a couple, family or single traveller. The property is located close to many options for public transport, a beach, and many restaurants and grocery shops on the street. The room was very comfortable, and clean, it had a fridge which was very convenient. There was a beautiful view from the balcony, three excellent-sized swimming pools, table tennis, volleyball and badminton. The staff were very professional and helpful. Breakfast was great plenty to choose from, cereal, yoghurt, bread, cheese, ham, fruit and a selection of hot food and drinks.

The location and gardens are amazing. The staff are wonderful. Great brunch! The rooms were very clean. Towels are very old, thin and small. It was incredibly noisy. You can hear every movement through the walls and ceilings and the housekeepers shouting in the hallways at about 8:30 am. There are many large groups that stay and they are up late at night, up to 2 am sometimes, drinking and talking very loudly.

Convenient for beach (via cablecar) and Christo Rei view. Room was reasonably good, with balcony although view was a bit compromised. On arrival, reception staff were extremely friendly and we were made most welcome. If you are driving, you can park in paid bays right outside -10c will get you 15mins to drop bags, for example - free parking a bit further away. Neptuno restaurant nearby highly recommended for good simple food, very reasonably priced. We stayed one night, which is enough to see the area (and a Gajarau dive) - but good base if you are on a longer diving course. Some other places to see around the island !

The rooms are located in a few different buildings, from the reception and main building we had to walk a bit uphill to our building. There’s no wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby in the main building. The hotel is not very modern, the bathrooms could use an upgrade. We only had breakfast at the hotel, it was tasty, but pretty much the same everyday. Location of the hotel is good, close to shops and the bus stop is in front of the building. The closest beach is about 2 kms from the hotel, downhill, hard to reach without a car.

There are a few things I liked a lot and a few things I didn’t. Pros-Very walkable,Lots of cafes, restaurants and grocery near by,Indoor pool,View from the balcony, the rooms were very clean,in room microwave and hot plate and I got a pleasant surprise of cake and champagne on my birthday. Con’s- No AC thankfully I visited in the winter,the beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, No wifi in rooms only in common areas,Walls are paper thin, no elevator no kettle for tea or coffee in rooms With that being said this is a perfect pick if you’re not going to sow and much time indoors. It’s a little dated but it worked for our shot stat
