Wonderful stay

We had a lovely stay at Atento apartments. The property is great, clean and comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. There are wonderful views of the city walls. There are a lot of steps to climb in order to get to the apartment so not suitable for anyone with reduced mobility. Overall a great place!

Nice Apartment in Old Town

Well appointed, comfortable and clean apartment in the old town. As mentioned in other reviews there are quite a lot of steps to climb but that will apply to most accommodation in the old town as it is steep on both sides. Good communication with property manager (Iris). Had a good dinner at the restaurant run by Iris’ family. Would recommend

The room itself is fine, but 2 major minuses - the washing machine didn’t work properly (would not drain) making laundry tough and the standing water left a musty smell in the room. Also the floor/ceiling is very thin so every morning at 6 am, I was woken by heavy footfall. Bring ear plugs

Do not bother to climb up to this apartment. I wish the property description would have included that there are many steps to come to this place. We walked the hardest 650 m of our life since we had 20 kg suitcases. I found several issues with the apartment: 1. Mold on doorframes in the bathroom. Also looks like there was water damage because the doorframe is swollen and cracked at the bottom. 2. No instructions on how to use stove and that there is a switch to the water heater. Had to contact owner. 3. Not the greatest directions how to get to the apartment AND the address is misleading (it’s on Poljana Mrtvo Zvono not Ulica Mrtvo Zvono). We had noisy upstairs neighbors (I know it’s not the owner’s fault). The only positive thing was that owner replied to my request quickly. I asked the mold be cleaned since I have mold allergies and it was remedied within hours.

I want to be fair here but also accurate. This is a very well appointed Ikea apartment built into a very old stone building. It is clean and well-equipped. But management of it needs work if it is to succeed as a VRBO. It can be a good place to stay, but be cautious. I imagine the owners are young investors who live a good distance from the property, and probably are not very handy at fixing things. So they hire a management company. When I put a significant bit of our vacation clothing into the wash machine, only to find that it washed but would not spin or drain, and locked so we could not retrieve our clothes, I messaged the management company. They told me to contact the owner, which took quite a while. Fortunately, I was able to get the washer open, and we retrieved a sodden load of filthy clothing that just about dried before we left. We also live in vacation spot, and VRBO manager take care of all of that. This was not the only failing which, I think, suggests the owners need a new management company. Here is the list: 1. The map for getting to the apartment from the drop-off location was really and truly inadequate for someone unfamiliar with Dubrovnik. 2. There was not a bit of instruction for operating the appliances in the apartment, like the washer, the stove top, the heater/air conditioner. 3. The hot water was "occasional" at best. Last weekend it was pretty well non-existent.

Die Unterkunft liegt "oben" in der Altstadt, man muss sich also bewusst sein, dass es bergauf und viele Treppenstufen hinauf geht. Die Angabe der Adresse ist falsch. Es ist nicht die Mrtvo Zvono sondern Poljana Mrtvo Zvono. Was wir nach halbstündigem Suchen im Dunkeln herausgefunden haben. Das Appartement selbst liegt dort im hinteren Eck und ist über eine Treppe erreichbar. Ist ein bisschen tricky und die Beschreibung sollte hier angepasst werden. Sonst war die Unterkunft super. Sauber, geräumig, hell, gut ausgestattet. Wir waren zufrieden.
