Loved this hotel! A boutique hotel in the heart of the Kotor old town. The facilities were 10/10 and the staff were helpful whenever we had a question. The room and the bathroom were spacious with all the amenities we could need. The breakfast every morning was great and the restaurant on the roof had and incredible view and even better food.
A little loud due to the location , but didn’t bother us much . Bojan at the front desk was fantastic with recommendations and helping with bookings . The location is great otherwise . Breakfast was also great!
Would recommend others stay here
A lovely hotel in a renovated old house in the center of Kotor. Tastefully done in a modern style that blends well with the surroundings. Room spacious and well-appointed.
Staff is efficient and warm and welcoming.
Do not miss dinner on the rooftop terrace.
We loved our stay at the Hippocampus. All of the staff we met were really friendly and welcoming. The room was large and comfortable and breakfast was good (although a little more variety would have been welcome). The hotel is in the heart of the old town making it perfect for exploring beautiful Kotor - but it does mean it is noisy at night being next to a bar - the only downside in an otherwise amazing stay.
The property was ideally situated in the heart of the Old Town. The staff on arrival and throughtout were great and very accommodating. Breakfast was consistently very good/excellent! The rooms were spacious, warm, cosy, clean and were cleaned daily! I would definately revisit and recommend.
This was a darling hotel room right in the heart of the old city. Our room was built on the side of a stone wall and was very spacious with a separate living room area. The staff were very friendly and check in/out was a breeze.
Beautiful place! Very clean and very unique. The location is great! It’s close to everything (shopping, hiking, sightseeing, food market, beach. The club next to the hotel was too noisy every night until midnight. If you like to party you would like that.
Hotel and staff were great, but unfortunately a pub is located directly outside the hotel and plays loud music until the early hours. There is also a second outside club bar to the rear of the property, which also plays music to the early hours. The hotel staff were great and gave us ear plugs, which was great, but not really what we were expecting.
The big downside was a bar/club next door which played loud music until 1am every single day of the week. The base from the music could be heard and felt in our room. Obviously this is not the hotels fault BUT when it is a known problem they should be telling you in advance during check in or write it on their website and maybe hand out ear plugs to show they actually care. The hotel itself is nice, good location, clean but the staff was not very enthusiastic and it felt a bit awkward coming into the lobby. The room was nice, had a fridge, big bathroom and nice beds.
If sleep is important to you, this is NOT the hotel to stay at. The hotel itself is great, charming, the reality is it is next door to effectively a nightclub. The music goes on till approx 1.30am, EVERY NIGHT and it doesn't matter what floor of the hotel you are on, it's unavoidable. Do not stay on the first floor at any cost, you will not sleep. Otherwise, breakfast and the rooftop are both great.

Night club next door
The hotel is located in the heart of Kotor, which is great except…there is a night club next door. Loud music would be an understatement. The hotel provides ear plugs but they do nothing for a loud base. We asked for a refund for the second night to go elsewhere but they did not allow a refund and said we had received a message with a note on the location of the hotel and the noise, that was not the case. They did change our rooms to the quieter side, however the noise did not improve. Had we known about the noise we would not have booked this stay.
