Great hotel with wonderful staff. The Roman bath ruins underneath were wonderful. Everything about the hotel was top notch. Highly, highly recommend and will absolutely stay here if I'm ever in Plovdiv again.

Unique and great experience

The hotel is very unique. Great breakfast, comfortable rooms and mini-bar contents are included. It was built over some nice Roman ruins and they do a great tour in the mornings. Awesome place and great location.

It is very centrally located and actually located on an ancient Roman bath ruins that you see in the lobby through the glass floor. There is daily tour. Fun. The breakfast is good, good food and service and ambience.

Excellent hotel, staff, and location!

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and very professional. Comfortable room, clean, and quiet. The location was fantastic - it is close to restaurants, shopping, and sites. The parking was secure, and the directions emailed from the hotel staff helped me locate it.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel's owner, Konstantin Kostov, was particularly impressive. Always there, it seemed, and he also gave an excellent talk about the Roman baths underneath the hotel. Whatever I asked of him, he always went the extra yard. Any criticism? I had to work hard to come up with one: the fridge in my room was not cold enough!

The hotel lobby -- the ancient gramophone and, behind it, an equally antiquated typewriter, are part of the hotel's ambience -- to give a sense of history.

We had a wonderful four days in Villa Flavia. Our room was clean and spacious. We had a safe, a coffee machine, a tv including two channels in English, comfortable beds and a great bathroom. There is also free use of the contents of the room fridge which is replenished every day. The staff are all efficient and very friendly. The hotel is well placed in the city centre and you can walk easily to Roman remains, bars, restaurants and shops. The hotel also offers a short tour of the Roman bath in the basement. We had an enjoyable stay here and can thoroughly recommend Villa Flavia.

Wonderful hotel

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location in the Old Town. Every one of the staff we encountered dealt with us in a very friendly, helpful and professional manner. Our room was a good size with a comfortable bed and spotlessly clean (as were the other areas of the hotel). The room had all the facilities we needed including a small safe, excellent air-conditioning and a good sized bathroom. The free mini-fridge which was restocked each day was both unexpected and a nice touch. There is a lovely courtyard area where you can choose to have breakfast which had a very good range of food available. An unexpected surprise was a guided tour after breakfast of the Roman bath and ruins in the basement of the hotel which we really enjoyed.

If you are traveling to Plovdiv for any reason this is the place! Close to everything. I had to get to the rowing canal every day and it was no problem. I grabbed line scooters and it took me 10 minutes and got to see some other parts of the city that I would not have otherwise seen. The staff was outstanding! Accommodating, nice and helpful. Spoke great English which for me was great!!!

The best part of our trip to Plovdiv

Truly outstanding. Villa Flavia is built on top of Roman bath ruins and they have lovingly and beautifully preserved them below the main lobby. Make sure you take them up on their offer for a short tour to see the original marble of the pool, original tunnels that demonstrate the heating mechanism (hypocaust). My boyfriend and I both looked at each other on our first night and said “this was a great choice” - property & rooms are lovely & comfortable - overlooks a gorgeous courtyard where you can have breakfast - fantastic buffet breakfast with great spread: hot items, Bulgarian yogurt and toppings, banitsa, pancakes, fresh squeezed oj, excellent espresso - parking was ultra convenient and worth the modest fee - roof top terrace is also lovely - cannot beat the location in old plovdiv, close to all of the museums, restaurants, Roman stadium, etc.

Les instructions pour le stationnement étaient claires et je n'ai pas eu de problèmes à trouver. Le personnel est dévoué et fort sympathique! L'endroit est impeccable et à deux pas du centre et les recommandations des restaurants fournies par le personnel étaient à la hauteur des attentes! Petit-déjeûner copieux au matin. Tasty breakfast, friendly staff, amazing views from the rooftop terrace and the rooms have all amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Super convenient location - steps away from shops, restaurants and the Old Town, perfect for exploring. The owner also gave us tour of the ruins underneath the building, it was super interesting. We had a truly exceptional stay at Villa Flavia. The hotel was in a superb location, with a very friendly and helpful staff, and wonderful accommodations. The rooms were clean and modern, beds were very comfortable, and breakfast was plentiful. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Plovdiv and would choose it every time ! Check out the tour of the hotel-- it's built on ancient ruins and the hotel staff does a nice job of explaining the history.

Villa Flavia was absolutely amazing. The hotel is perfectly placed for exploring Plovdiv. The rooms are clean and nice. The breakfast is great. The staff can’t do enough for you. All I can say is stay here … the Roman ruins below the building are amazing too. 10/10!!!!

I was visiting to watch the European rowing championships. Plovdiv is a lovely city with plenty of history, many old ruins to see & fantasic bars & restaurants. The city is well worth a visit. The hotel itself is excellent. It’s in a great location very close to everything. All the people there are very friendly & helpful. It’s a gem of a place & I would definitely stay there again. It is built on an old Roman Bath & every day the staff do a little tour of their own ruins which is well worth attending. One day I needed breakfast a little bit earlier & they easily accommodated me. Fantastic place.

Amazing Place

Amazing hotel. Perfect location. The stay gives you the feeling to be part of the history and Plovdiv. The great excursion possibility to explore a historic romanian bath under the hotel is amazing and makes the hotel absolutely special. For me the best hotel in Plovdiv.
