Europe’s Coolest Hotel: 25hour Hotel Bikini in Berlin
I left my shoes in the hallway and jumped straight on to the hammock to admire the breathtaking view in front of me. Everywhere I looked, I could only see green trees and orangutans jumping from tree to another. It was hard to believe that I was in the heart of Berlin.
25hours Hotel Bikini is a four-star hotel in Berlin, Germany. It’s somewhat an upscale place to stay, but with a funky twist that makes it the perfect hotel for the young and trendy crowd of travellers! The hotel is located in the lovely neighborhood of Charlottenburg, close to a lot of shopping and restaurants.
25hour Hotels can also be found in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Wien & Zurich. None of them are the same, but each one will offer an experience unlike any other.
Arriving at 25hour Hotel Bikini
At first the front door is a tad tricky to find, but for that I have my Berlin, Germany app with its offline navigation.
To get to the actual reception of the hotel, you need to get an elevator from the ground floor. As you enter the hotel lobby itself, it’s like arriving to a jungle – a jungle full of hipsters and their Instagram perfect cappuccinos. Right next to the reception is a cute café called Five Elephant Coffee, where you can get that quality caffeine fix and chill in one of the hammocks.
On the other side of the reception is The Wohnzimmer lounge with its Work Labs, Bikini Islands and DJ corner. It’s that perfect creative space for getting work done or for just relaxing.
My Jungle M Room
The room types at 25hour Hotel Bikini are divided into a couple of different Urban & Jungle view rooms (jungle being Berlin Zoo). I had a direct view to the orangutan park at the zoo from my hammock. Yes, even my room had its own hammock. And I absolutely recommend choosing a Jungle room to guarantee the most unique experience!
There’s more to the room than just the view though. The room itself comes with a twist, which includes a cute monkey teddy, your personal bag while in the city and simply everything figured out to detail to wow you.
Restaurant Neni Berlin & Monkey Bar
Upstairs of the hotel are Restaurant Neni Berlin and the funky bar, called Monkey Bar. Neni Berlin offers many delicious and healthy options for dining. Many of the meals seemed to be somewhat fusion mixes of European and Middle Eastern cuisine.
On my first night, I went to buy some sweet potato fries and a chia pudding to enjoy in the peace and quiet of my own room. Monkey Bar seemed to be extremely popular also among the locals, and for a reason! The view from the 10th floor is fantastic and and during summertime, there is a fabulous outdoor terrace too!
Breakfast at 25hour Hotel Bikini
Finally I’ve found it, the most vegan friendly breakfast in Europe! As a person who spends most of her time on the road, sometimes it can become tricky to keep enjoying endless empty carbs for breakfast at hotels around the globe. The breakfast here, at Neni Berlin, was healthy and full of vegetarian options to kickstart the day! There was also lemon water and a fantastic collection of teas!
Location of the hotel
25hour Hotel Bikini is located in Bikini-Haus building next to the Berlin Zoo. The location is easily accessed from Tegel Airport with bus number X9. And like mentioned above, there are several nice restaurants and shops right next tot the hotel.
