We had a freshener spray in the room but even that couldn’t get rid of the smell and I’m almost certain a dead mice/rat was the smell. "we love this hotel because its old style and classic. everything works as it should but it needs redecoration however i like it very much as it is. rooms are very quiet and i love the space in the rooms. i struggle with Japanese hard mattresses so bring my own top up mattress then i have a lovely comfortable stay. we would love for this hotel to remain open and have a paint job done. its a lovely classic hotel. "
