The location was excellent, with great swimming and ability to walk to a choice of cafe, and bar/restaurants (2). The staff were very helpful, accommodating and friendly. Dylan was super helpful and has a excellent relaxed demeanour. We had the budget rooms, which provided everything we required, in this tropical paradise.

Perfect location, on the lagoon with views out to sea and over to the nearby private Island. Close to the excellent Koru Cafe for great coffee, breakfast and lunch. Also very close to Blue Lagoon restaurant for dinner (great food, and location but nonexistent customer service). The Boatshed casual dining is also a 5 min walk. Best snorkeling on the island is 2kms away and there is bike hire option with decent bikes that we took advantage of. Stand up paddleboards, kayaks and a small swimming pool are on site and part of the accommodation price. Friendly service from Dylan (son of owner) and other staff. Dylan kindly ran us back to airport after pickup, as I left a bag on the plane. Also helped with booking a lagoon cruise with Kia Orana - a wonderful day out. Good fan in the room and a nice covered verandah for relaxing on. Great outdoor and very private shower. Chilled water in fridge for arrival was very welcome and there is UV filtered water freely available which was a nice change from having to constantly buy it. Would highly recommend and definitely stay here again.

Best spot in Aitutaki! Such great value for money. Friendly staff, great size cabin. We booked the deluxe beach front bungalow. Air conditioner worked great. Easy access to cafes and restaurants. We would definitely recommend and book again!

I wanted a do nothing holiday. This was a brilliant choice, quiet, pool and lagoon was perfect, the local restraunts and cafe handy, just very insistant on reservations. With bicycle, scooter and car hire available getting out and about was easy. Wasnt prepared for the self catering option at the Retreat and the local stores provided options for dining in. Would stay again, just with better insect repellant.

Beautiful stay

The apartment is spacious and clean and comfortable, just on a beautiful beach and the folks are the nicest and so helpful! There are two restaurants and a little coffee shop all within walking distance. You can rent cars and scooters or bikes from these folks, they can help arrange dive or snorkel trips, enjoy their little slice of paradise!

Das Retreat ist in den Zimmern etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber absolut ausreichend für einen kurzen Aufenthalt. Die Zimmer haben alles was man braucht inkl Ventilator, Kühlschrank und Geschirr. Die Lage zum Flughafen ist praktisch, ebenso zur BlueLagoon. Der Strand ist sehr ruhig und es stehen Sonnenliegen zur Verfügung. An der Rezeption können direkt Roller gemietet werden (Trotz Aussage das man nichts weiter braucht außer dem internationalen Führerschein trotzdem kurz zur Policestation für einen CI Führerschein fahren, wenn man danach in Rarotonga einen Roller mieten möchte, hier ist dieser verpflichtend) Dillen hat uns vom Flughafen abgeholt und uns schon einige nützliche Infos gegeben.

Perfect little place for the family

Third time to this Island. First time staying at this bungalow. It was clean and tidy air conditioning in the main bedroom only fans in every room to keep the circulation going. It’s situated right in front of the lagoon with steps to the water.

Incredible Setting

This is not a high end resort but tge staff try really hard to make your stay pleasant. Our every request was immediately dealt with. Dylan, the manager, is a sweet man with a huge smile. The resort is located on a very pretty beach/lagoon. They have free use if kayaks, paddle boards, and bikes. They also rent cars and scooters. The Blue Lagoon Restaurant is close by as us the Koru Bakery, both of which i recommend highly.

Very quiet, little area right on the water.Basically 12 bungalow cabins .Big thanks to Dylan picking up and dropping off from airport.NOTE:..this is not a "luxury" resort , but the location is great, price is great for the traveller that wants a quiet, low key island experience.NOTE: Aitutaki can get very hot so consider the Cabins with air conditioning..Also the roosters rule and can get noisy...LOL

Stayed a week which is a bit long. Got a room without air conditioning which is unbearable with the high level of humidity. We had to ask for one with the air conditioning and a kitchenette- wonderful! The tours are very expensive so we just stayed swim in the lagoon, make use of the free kayaks and the pool on site. Staff are helpful and friendly. The room that we had was just quite basic and needs upgrading.

Shame about the guy.

Very basic cabin. Office open only til noon. Left our bags told we could collect late in the afternoon. All locked up. No answer on the provided phone. The crankiest (non-Aitutakian) man allowed us to get our bags saying obviously it’s all locked because office hours are til 12. Completely unnecessary behaviour and attitude to guests who just paid heartily to stay there. He needs to develop some customer service skills or get off this most beautiful island.
