Samir Hotel review
The hotel is in the city center, but not quiet calm because it's located next to a very busy and crowded road. The staff are nice people, the hotel doesn't have an elevator, the room seems to be clean but there are lot of smells, bad ones.

It was lovely to have an airconditioned room all to myself with a private toilet & shower. The location was ideal for everything I was doing and the staff were wonderful. The availability of a breakfast items was also a treat! I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone as they travel to Algiers! Thank you :)

Hotel Samir
I stayed at Hotel Samir for 3 nights. The staff were very helpful, including the manager who was happy to answwer any questions I asked. The hotel is situated right in ther cwntre of Algiers, convienent for everything. if you walk for 10-15 minutes down the street there is a metro station with stops to all the main tourist sites.

A well located hotel with all commodities
The Samir Hotel is perfectly located to visit the centre of Alger by foot. The rooms are small but fully equiped with air conditioning. Mattresses are maybe a little bit too thin. But the staff is very nice and helpful.

Good hotel in good location
This is a basic hotel that provides good value in the price range. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location is excellent. Breakfast is basic but the rooms are comfortable and the wifi worked OK. I will happily return there.

Stairway to heaven.....Too many STAIRS
The rooms I stayed in do not look like the picture. They only have beds in them and no seating areas. It is on a main street and the people outside can be loud at times. The breakfast is just bread. No, cook to order food. They do go out of there way to help and most speak more than one language. So, they can speak to you in English very well. The rooms with the 1 bed in them are small with no updated bathroom. They have a lot of stairs!

VERY NICE STAFF......They also speak ENGLISH!!!!
The front desk speak English! Everyone is very nice and try to help you out. They are near to shops, food stores and about 3 miles from the beach. They are right near the bus station and metro station train. The WIFI is great! The cheap room is very small and not good at all. It has a bathroom shower in one. There is nothing to separate the two. But if you pay for the next price rooms up it is big and has a regular bathroom and shower. They did upgrade me to a bigger room away from all the noise without me even asking them to do it. They do try to make sure you have a nice comfortable stay. They DO NOT HAVE A MADE TO ORDER BREAKFAST!!! They have a very very very simple breakfast with bread and bread and bread coffee and juice. That it :( Please note they only have stairs and a lot a lot a lot of them. It is an old building so they have the old kind that go on for what seemed like miles. I had to stop and rent and only went out when needed because of the stairs. They do have the staff to help. They have nothing updates but for the price.......its okay

Good Hotel deal in Algeirs
WiFI was fine. Accommodations minimal but good enough and the price was very low. Minimal breakfast included. Local area great for walking and shopping. I walked the 3 miles each way to a sandy beach.

The jewel of Algiers
Yousfi and his squad at reception were beyond helpful. Loved the old colonial decor of the place. Was everything I was expecting and wanting from Algeria. Very central to all the life in the city too!

Good 1 or 2 star hotel
I chose this as being central and affordable and than was scared by some terrible reviews I read but it is a nice Spartan simple old fashioned hotel. For US $50 a night it was fine - at least my room 105 on first floor was. No lift. Wonderful location on principal street. They forgot to knock on my door the last day (my telephone had been stolen).

Best location
Stayed in one of the renovated rooms with new bathrooms. A vast improvement The absolute worse thing about this hotel is the lack of an elevator. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful.

Well-priced, clean place in the heart of town.
Room was clean, breakfast simple. Samir is right in the centre - near a metro station, by a shopping street and close to the Sacre-Coeur Cathedral (or is it a cooling tower ;-) Staff very friendly and helpful. Yes, I'd stay there again on my next visit to Algiers.

its great location , located in down town algers so easy to walk at night and good access to the public transportation. The staff is not that friendly they don't smile that much. internet was working a day and a day no.

Bad Choice
I should be staying long but have to leave after 1 day as it is not comfortable. Very low standard including facilities and service. No one helped me carry my luggage from ground to third floor through a very steep staircase.

Hotel does not have elevator so I had to carry my baggage myself on narrow stairs to the 3rd floor in front of the hotel staff who did not offer any help. The internet did not work. the TV was very old and nearly damaged. The room had no view at all. The hotel corridors are very stuffy and no ventilation at all. The breakfast was the most frustrating in all this. you enter the restaurant, you sit on the table and they will bring a tray with exactly these items ( piece of french bread 3 in long, 1 croissant, a cup of coffee, a cup of milk, a glass of juice and small packet of better and another one for jam). That is all for breakfast. Then when I checked out, they refused to give me an invoice. they said because you booked online and did not pay the money to us. Most of these issues with the hotel could be solved if the hotel staff is friendly. they are the worst part of my stay.

My room had no balcony despite the advert stating that all rooms have them, and instead had just a window that opened onto a dingy concrete central well. The bathroom window was held on by coathanger wire and stuck open, and there was a 4 inch gap between the bathroom door frame and the wall so the mosquitoes could come and go as they pleased. The towel rail was hanging off the wall at one end. My aircon remote was missing and despite two requests to reception (who do not speak English) a new one was never provided. Great location, but nowhere near value for money

Average hotel at the cost which you pay
Not a courteous reception team. rooms are average, no lift so if you get 3rd or 4th floor, difficult to take baggage to rooms, no phone in rooms and unfortunately the rooms are done done well after checkin, so you have to come down to reception for getting things done. Rooms are very small with no facility.

Hotel Samir is well-located just 5 minutes walk from the Grande Poste and the metro station. It isn't far from the harbour and the main sights. It's next to a busy street, which makes it loud. The room are small, but clean. Beds are uncomfortable and bathrooms tiny. The wi-fi in the hotel is very slow and breakfast moderate. The staff doesn't speak English, but is helpful with taxis and money changing (good rate). Upon my arrival, I first received keys to a room which was occupied - better not leave valuables in the room. There are no elevators, only steep stairs to the rooms.

3rd times is a charm
3rd stay at Hotel Samir. Incredible front desk service .Sabrina and Mourad were incredible. Karim in the lounge/salon was tops for service and friendliness. Perhaps there are better hotels in Algiers, but staying here is like coming back home. Don't care that there is no elevator. The whole hotel has been repainted giving it a fresher and cleaner look. Best street in Algiers.

the improved Hotel Samir
Hotel rooms are currently being refurbished. Much brighter and cleaner looking. The front desk Personnel are very friendly and helpful. Murad is multi lingual and goes out of his way to assist you. The lounge area is looked after very well by a very efficient fellow. Stayed here a year ago and I see a lot of improvent. The location of this hotel is the best

Une honte cet hôtel
Dès notre arrivée, aucune réservation n'a été enregistré malgré la présentation du document et la preuve du paiement. Le réceptionniste a dû appeler sa responsable et après 20 minutes nous a attribué une chambre en nous informant que nous devrons gérer cela le lendemain. La chambre était globalement propre Mais les draps dans un état de saleté des draps déjà utilisés avec des poils et un couvre lit rempli de tâches tout simplement une honte ! Une énorme déception ! Je ne recommande absolument pas cet hôtel !
