From the very moment I met the front desk receptionist, Haris, to my encounter with each of the housekeeping staff, my experience was absolutely wonderful. The Greeks are a welcoming people and, this hotel staff was proof of that.

Overall a good stay and great location! Upon check The lovely woman who was very helpful with dining recommendations and how to get sites via train. Rooftop had somewhat of a view of the Acropolis and was lovely to sit in the morning. It was a bit chilly and our room heat was in need of repair ... they are working on this room as i write. Beds and pillows were comfy , hot showering was great ... although shower curtain could have been lower so the water doesn’t go out on to floor in bathroom

Centrally located hotel near Acropolis
Conveniently located near both popular Monastiriki and Plaka areas, and just a few minutes walk from ancient ruins, including the Acropolis. We had a rooftop "garden" room on the 5th floor, which were NOT accessible via the elevator (only goes to the 4th floor). Word of advise: Pack a light suitcase, as you will have to haul your bags up the last flight of (steep) stairs. Front desk woman who checked us in was delightful. Front desk man was cranky. Our room was clean, but other hotel guests congregated at night outside our room to party, so that was annoying. It would've been better if we had a room on a lower floor.

Good central location and deluxe room was large with great balcony. Staff were helpful. We had booked a roof garden room but this wasn’t available when we checked in. However the lift does not reach those rooms so we avoided taking suitcases up a flight of stairs:)

Check in was great, clean place and helpful staff. Although i booked a twin and got a double, the receptionist offered me a room swap. Although I declined, as the double had a view on roof terrace. Bad points - a large group of loud young guests on the terrace until 3am when I had to resort to asking them to be quiet - dissapointing the staff didn't intervene to discourage such behaviour!

Loved the location, there is variety of restaurants near by and stygmata square was just a couple of streets from it. The room was clean roomy and cold A/C. The receptionists were both very nice and helpful.

Comfort at Hotel Carolina
Very happy with hotel staff, large, clean balcony, happy with lift and stairs easy to climb, short walk to Syntagma Square and Monasteraki Noisy as bar next to hotel, however large room and bed very comfortable so I would be happy to stay again

Good price, great location but beds were not comfortable, hotel is old, lift/elevator is at least 50+ years old. It was noisy as one can hear everything from reception and also incoming and outgoing guests and noise due to elevator.

It is near Monastiraki train station which is very nice but it can be noisy at night due to presence of probably bars or entertainment facilities nearby. Our room facing the street on first floor was an upgrade because it was my birthday when we check-in. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

I had a beautiful, corner room. Hotel is located right in the middle of downtown, near everything. Modern, very functional. Breakfast good. Hotel very clean, modern interior of rooms, bathroom excellent, huge balconies on 4th floor.

Ideal location in Plaka. Charming old school elegance with a wrought iron elevator and a marble grand staircase. Our balcony gave us a view of the street activity. Plenty of things to see and places to eat within a close walking distance.

Nice central hotel
Nice hotel in a central location. Didn't expect much but was really nice for a basic type hotel. Rooms were nice and beds were really comfortable. Friendly staff. Breakfast was basic but what you would expect in europe. Would stay here again.

Walls are very thin. We could hear people walking along the corridor on the way to their room. Bathroom was tight. Room for three was very tight - literally no space for two pieces of luggage. The faucet lever was oversized so that whenever you bent over to wash your face, the lever would literally poke one of your eyes out. The safety box was movable - that one puzzled me - why have a safety box if someone can just go in the room and lift it and take it away?

Hotel was clean and was very well located. Close to main attractions and the subway. A lot of cafes and restaurants close by as well...we had a toddler with us and the noise level that others have complained about didn’t bother us ( our room was located on the 2nd floor).
