A beautiful place! We arrived by ferry and walked to the hotel. Its natural beauty is amazing. It was before the height of the tourist season, so it was not crowded.

The hotel is historic and beautiful but the room looks a little old. The staff is super nice and breakfast is delicious. I now they are renovating parts of the hotel so it will be 5 stars when renovation is complete. Very convenient for staying in Flam l.

Had a great stay at the Freithem for one night. The room was very comfortable, the food was delicious, and the staff was very kind and helpful. I really enjoyed sneaking up to the lookout and appreciated that they had non alcoholic beer on the dinner menu. (Also LOVE the Fjellheim soap! I'm hooked on the scent.) Looking forward to an opportunity to enjoy this space in the Summer!

It was unique that we had control over the temperature in our room; this was the only hotel we stayed at that had this option and it made for a more comfortable sleep. The bed was comfy. The dinner and breakfast buffets were excellent. The decor was interesting and made it fun to explore and walk through the entire hotel admiring it. I’m glad I chose the historic room option. It made it more fun and I enjoyed the tub for a bubble bath.

This was a most pleasant stay. The room was very comfortable and the food choices in the dining room were amazing. The buffet for the evening meal was so varied. Everyone couple find something to eat. The breakfast choices were wonderful. Not just the continental breakfast we are all used to. I would happily come back again.

Fantastic location. Beautiful hotel. Awesome decor in the room. Great restaurant where we had dinner and the highly-rated breakfast buffet. Lots of attractive sitting areas to visit or enjoy a cocktail. Just a walk across the parking lot to get to the the fjord cruise boat

Great customer oriented hotel. Small charge for packing a full lunch from the extensive breakfast buffet and free self service laundry ! Very friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying in this hotel. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The evening buffet meal was excellent. It was quite expensive - both the hotel and meal - but worth the money!

Don’t believe the hype. No phone, tv or mini refrigerator. No shower. Went to Gym to shower. Only bath tubs. I see yours were given better quality of rooms. But shower had no bath wash. Shampoo or Conditioner. They did give us hand wash. The towels for $300 a night were dingy. But the view was spectacular and the front desk ladies very accommodating. However. It’s sold out every night from day travelers spending the night and moving on. Loved Flam. People were upset by the big ship appearing and staying for 2 days. I knew in advance.

The hotel is located in the most beautiful place ! It’s 5 min walking distance to Flam railway, buss station and a pear . It has a fantastic view from the lobby , great breakfast and comfortable, updated rooms .

The room we stayed was not very good. It did not match the picture showed during the booking. There was one window (not too big) and it did not have any balcony. The room size was pretty small.

Great area to stay. Proximate to train, port, restaurants etc. The hotel staff were pleasant and the main foyer and restaurant were good. But the rooms were very tired and in dire need of renovations.

Flam is a beautiful spot and easy to reach by car, train, or ferry. The Fretheim is nice enough- clean and comfortable beds - but also terribly overpriced. Console yourself with a not-to-miss cinnamon roll from the Flam Bakery. Go for a hike or bike ride. It’s well worth the visit. You just might want to explore other lodging options to be more budget friendly.

Unique : Old Heritage Hotel with basic amenities, clean and has its appeal. Front desk very helpful. Concerns: No phone in room with connection to front desk if seniors need help. Room small. No body lotion in bathroom. No Tissues.

We had only one night here but we loved our Historic room with a view of the harbor. We enjoyed our buffet dinner in the restaurant perhaps too much and breakfast was also excellent and varied. The wait staff was very helpful. We had really special service from the young woman at the front desk who went out of her way to help us with some paperwork for our return trip home.
