"Lovely place. Almost like a fairy tale"

"The room was advertised as sleeps three. Husband and I barely fit in the double bed (think US double). The room is great for one person or two small. The staff are very friendly, the surroundings beautiful. Highly recommend but check bed situation for sure. Also no air conditioning, just chilled air. Was very warm till outside cooled off and we could open windows. "

"Awesome property in beautiful location. Incredible breakfast buffet in a great setting. Very clean and comfortable room and common areas. Perfect central location for trips to Salzburg, Eagle’s Nest and Hohenwerfen. A 10 minute drive into the town, where there is great selection of restaurants. ABOVE ALL ELSE, the service by the staff was 5 star. I did not catch his name, but older gentleman was very attentive to us throughout our stay. He offered suggestions for places to visit and cooked scrambled eggs for us every morning. Incredible hospitality!! Also, there is a nearby lake with crystal clear water for swimming (Thumsee)."

"Adequate words fail me to describe my delightful experience at the Gerl. By far, the best hotel experience I’ve ever had in Salzburg. I selected the two-room suite for our family; and the king-bed rooms were spacious. Don’t shy away from dining at the Gerl. The breakfast spread was delectable . This world traveler found their Thai Red Curry the best ever. Yes, you read that correctly. The best ever red curry in Salzburg, Austria. There is a laundry room an available for guests. The Gerl will be my home away from home on my next visit to Salzburg."
