"Lovely pub, clean and comfy room, friendly staff and great food. Nice size car park too. Well placed to explore Oxford as it's only 15 minutes drive to park and ride.
Only a couple of small comments for housekeeping. Only one sachet of milk was provided per day which meant that one of us had to have our coffee back. Also, only the bin was emptied...the bed was left unmade, which is no problem, but why leave the dirty coffee cups and water glasses and not provide clean ones?
Other than that, we totally recommend this pub and will certainly stay again."
"Nice looking old building, full of character in keeping with surroundings, however the downside to this was poor internal layout. There was a (small) lift but even with a lift we still had few steps up & down to get to our room so not a problem for us but less abled/non ambient may not have been able to enjoy their stay. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice of buffet items & hot food off menu cooked to order. Staff at breakfast lovely. No air conditioning in room, only in bar. As we had heatwave it would have been nice but we’re in UK so not usually an issue. Minor building works going on (late May 26)."
"I had a very nice stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. The location was convenient, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant. I especially enjoyed the excellent service and delicious food. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay."
"Great hotel, modern spacious and comfortable room. Nice food. Only issue really was that I was promised an invoice would be sent to me by email and despite several phone calls I still haven't received it. The receptionist I spoke too I found was quite rude and abrupt."
"Loved that my room was in the main house. My room was small but it faced the garden where I could watch birds and squirls. Missed the hedgehogs. My bathroom was a few steps away from the room and it was good. The shower was pretty small. I got in but could not move around so I decided to wash off in sinks. The staff were wonderful to me. The manager told me more about the Manor House and it's age. At one time my family lived there so it was exciting to be able to stay. Breakfast was awesome! So many choices for breakfast. I went into Wantage a few times which I find very lovely. I love the countryside. The sheep were adorable. I loved Charney Manor."
