"I stayed in a room rather than one of the lodges, and the room was lovely, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. It's worth noting its on the very edge of the town, around a 15-minute walk from the centre of Ballater. My only disappointment was that the rooms are not serviced daily unless you are staying for a longer period, which wasn't explained at check-in. It was a little frustrating to return after a long day out to find the room hadn't been serviced, as that's one of the things I most enjoy about staying in a hotel. However, once I queried this, the staff explained the policy and provided fresh towels when I asked. It certainly didn't ruin my stay. Overall, this is a lovely hotel with comfortable accommodation, friendly service, and I would happily stay here again."

But there bedrooms are not small and hey are very spacious en-suite rooms. Beautifully decorated with the period they represent. The staff are very peasant, helpful and friendly. Good food. Excellent venue for a wedding as beautiful setting inside and outside extensive countryside woodland walk to the river."
