The next level five star experience
I had very high expectations for Les Trois Rois and the staff exceeded such to include the single room (exceptional for "lower entry" class), the valet (top notch), reception, and concierge who was able to get me into the Chavel Blanc last minute. That 3 star michelin experience requires its own review. Do not miss a chance to stay there when in Basel. I will return each year from my plCe in the Swiss Alps.

Vey nice hotel but noisy.
Because of the construction site in front of the hotel there is a lot of noise all day until 10 pm (evening)!

This is a very classy & elegant hotel.The rooms are quite small, but extremely charming & very clean. We had a river view & it was exquisite!! The staff were mostly very pleasant & accommodating. Our stay was outstanding from the moment we walked in. Staff was very friendly and courteous, Le Cheval Blanc restaurant was an incredible experience I will always remember. Our room was just perfect overlooking the water. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Every detail was thought of. We cannot wait to come again.

Amazinnnnnng staff and very generous hotel they offer me a lot of free coffees & breakfast too when I came few mins towards the end of the breakfast timing. The only comment is the Ac was hot other than that excellent hotel. Highly recommended

A real 5 stars in the city
The hotel is a historical building well located in the center , but easy access. The service is excellent, worth a 5 stars and the restaurant is delicious. We highly recommend !

Very disappointing
The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we were lucky to always get a seat in the bar for pre dinner drinks as we were residents. We stayed for my husband’s 40th birthday, we were actually there on the day / night, but they didn’t make any effort to acknowledge this even though I had told them the stay was for a special occasion. For a 5 star hotel to do absolutely nothing, not even send a card to the room wishing a happy birthday, is seriously lacking in customer service, especially at £400 per night. It’s usually the small details that set these places apart. The room was small and very hot, to the point that it disrupted our sleep on both nights. We were also supposed to have a king bed, but it was two single beds pushed together with completely separate bedding. While the common areas were lovely, the room was disappointing, didn’t live up to expectations and the experience does not compare to the 5* experiences I am used too.

Not worth the price and Rude
Disappointing stay considering the price of the hotel. Didn’t have a wine opener in the room ( they wouldn’t give me one twice it took 30 mins for someone to come up and open the bottle) supplies were not stocked daily (Creamer for coffee, sugar, hygiene etc) pillows were flat and not comfortable. We had two rooms both river view king rooms same price however, one room had a claw foot tub and OBVIOUSLY bigger with more space to sit and to put clothes away and the other room had no tub and very small, again considering we had paid for the same two River King rooms. Couldn’t sleep Saturday night due to an event downstairs in the ballroom it sounded like a club all night and we were three floors up. They wanted us to move rooms at 1AM like I am going to move rooms in the middle of the night. Then at checkout they were rude and blamed us because we didn’t want to move rooms at 1AM. Always a doorman in the front not once did they open the door. Rude staff that wouldn’t acknowledge you or say good morning. The list could go on, but can’t continue. $500 a night for a Hilton overall value. Will not be back nor will I recommend the hotel to anyone.

As we wanted your two rooms to be next to each other and due to high occupancy, we were unfortunately not able to accommodate you further away from the event. Furthermore, due to the historic building, the rooms may vary in size and shape because most of the building is under monumental conservation. We were forced to change our plans due to the French train strike and needed to book two additional nights at this hotel..I feel like the staff took advantage of the situation to jack up the price for those additional nights and were not willing to work with us.. very disappointing. The price for food in the bar were astronomical and the service was beyond slow. The property is stunning and one of the concierges was outstanding!

Grand Hotel Les Trios Rois
The room was very comfortable and even though I faced the street it was quiet. The bed was divine. Bathroom was state of the art. There is a lovely library on the 1st floor, where you can have open meetings. Dinner at the Brasserie also great. Only recommendation: Terrace bar outside brasserie should be open all year round with mushroom heaters.

Just 2 nights but loved the old world elegance which was just what we were looking for after a week on a brand new modern decor ship on the Rhine. The prices in Basel was rather a shock but the food was high quality and the hotel staff really doted on us. The concierge was extremely helpful.

Historic hotel in the heart of Basel

A fabulous hotel
A fabulous hotel, very high standards and exquisite decoration carried off without a hint of bling. Staff were excellent, and a room with a Rhine view well worth it. One small thing, however. Hot water, presumably previously boiled, with a tea bag on the side was presented as 'tea' at breakfast. It's a detail but one that should be corrected. Overall, that is the only fault I could fine in a truly great hotel.
