"Friendly staff, hotel location excellent! Room TV was not good, bad reception, no cable. Room could've used another chair and hooks in the bathroom for towels. Breakfast area large but the food was meh, need more breakfast food options."

"Rooms were nice, the golf course view is kind of a stretch, you can see one hole, past the parking lot and train tracks. The harbor view was ok, but the rock piles kind of take away from that also. The tiki bar was nice, and the complimentary water, but the drinks were on the expensive side, small, and very watered down. The Plank was the highlight of the property, great service and good food. Overall I would give it a 6 out of 10."

"This hotel was the cheapest rate we found for a newer hotel. The sweetness of the deal did not last as long as living with a budget hotel. The pro’s: the staff was nice, our tv worked the first two days, we loved having the mini fridge and microwave in the room. We asked a staff member what we should see in Benton Harbor. He told us they have a Walmart and did not recommend anything else. (We enjoyed South Haven and Holland, Mi. Benton Harbor has a high crime rate.) When we needed clean sheets I stripped the bed, gathered and put away our personal items and left a generous tip for housekeeping. My husband let the front desk know we were leaving (10 am) and would be back around 3. Our room was not cleaned & the cleaning staff left for the day! We saw four or five cars in the parking lot during our whole stay. The lady at the front desk helped by getting me towels, sheets, garbage bags and assisted by helping me to make the bed-she said she felt bad about our room. Our tv stopped working after day 2, my husband shared with the maintenance guy what he tried to remedy it and the guy said ‘that’s what I would try too.” We were leaving the following morning so we did not accept their offer to move rooms. Also, the internet was sporadic, they were ‘changing their system over’ so hopefully future travelers will have it. Weeds were growing in the landscape and flowers pots were set on top of their planters. But the rate was definitely cheaper, whether it’s worth it is up to you!"

"I reserved a Double Queen Suite which sleeps 6. The photos showed 2 queens plus a pull out couch in an adjacent room. What I got was 2 queens and in the adjacent room a live seat which was not a pull out. I attempted to call the front desk from the room phone… which had no dial tone and turned out not to be connected to anything… apparently just decorative. I called the hotel on my cell.. I was told that the property has NO pull out beds, and that they have NO CONTROL over what Expedia advertises. He offered me sheets for the love sofa, and said they were totally booked, there was nothing he could do. My son in law went down and got an additional room… so we paid for the 3rd bed twice. Not at all a good experience."

"The breakfast on Saturday morning was the best part of the whole stay. Great server great food and quite tasty ! The room was very clean but the internet was intermittent The TV was on and off every time it rained. Plus our room phone did not work at all.... Needs work. ✌"
