"Only here for one night, but will be back. Hotel is deep in the New Forest, but well worth the trek to get to it. Yes, you need transportation, but once there you can be as active for relaxed as you want. Perfect location for a walk in the Forest. We had a room overlooking the forest. Great view with wildlife walking by, very comfortable bed, lovely tea & coffee...New Forest shortbread was delicious. Very comfortable bed. Every was lovely from the check in to our departure and dinner on the Armada restaurant was as good, if not better than some Michelin star restaurants we visited. Great breakfast and then we departed...but we will be back."

"Very comfortable bed, lovely room, bit cold due to old building, got hot with heating but easy to adjust heaters if needed. Natrow and steep stairs so need to be capable for this with big bags, was fine for us but tight. So easy to walk and hike straight from the hotel."

You were left feeling like you were visiting family (in the all the best ways). The food was utterly superb. Nothing was pretentious, it was good portions and so flavourful. I really really can't remember when I last had a meal that good! The atmosphere overall was bubbling and warm. Everyone around me all seemed to be having a really positive experience too. I honestly wouldn't want to even try anywhere else. The stay was perfect. "
