"Booked this last minute, hotel itself and room were great. The main gripe I had was how scandalous it is to charge almost £10 for parking per day on top of the room fee- it’s off a busy A road, it’s not in a town centre. Will make sure to read the fine print beforehand, wouldn’t book again on this basis."

"The resort is absolutely gorgeous ! The staff were truly 5 stars. Harriet was especially delightful She made our lunch extra special with great recommendations. We really enjoyed her cheerful personality and found her to be very professional. Elliot at the Bar was fantastic and Jordan the night porter was super helpful. The Spa was relaxing, peaceful and stunning! Our room and the resort as a whole was very clean and just immaculate. A living historical experience. The only thing I would suggest is maybe a makeup mirror ( magnified) and maybe some bubble bath for the large bathtub. But those things are so minor and not really a concern for most people."

"My partner and I stayed for 2 nights. The impressive, grand entrance lead to the reception, where a member of staff greeted us. We entered our car reg to obtain free parking during our stay. We used the lift to our room on the 1st floor. We were delighted with our double room. It was spacious, spotlessly clean and well designed. Teas, coffees were plentiful. We were grateful for the large fan due to the weathers extreme heat conditions. The view from the window wasn’t scenic as it was an inner roof top view but this didn’t bother us. The bathroom was gorgeous and again spotlessly clean with mini toiletries supplied. Both my partner and myself had a very good nights sleep, no outside noise and very comfy bed. We didn’t eat at the hotel but it seemed very popular. Overall we enjoyed our stay, hopefully returning soon and would thoroughly recommend."

"Lovely stay. Gorgeous air-conditioned hotel in crazy UK temperatures! Comfy beds, clean rooms, really quiet - well insulated so no noise from people in corridors or slamming doors, blissful! Good shower. Great pool that didn't require booking or limited slots. Really nice bar and restaurant with excellent service and tasty food. Thank you for our stay - we'll be back."

"This was our second stay at Wivenhoe House Hotel and we will definitely hope to stay again. The first time we stayed in the main house, and the second time in the new extension, and both times the rooms were fantastic, every amenity supplied and excellent service from the staff in both housekeeping and the restaurant. Only an overnight stay but so relaxing, thank you."
