I stated for 3 nights for a conference at the university up the hill (U of Bristol). Excellent location, practically on campus. Beautiful well-kept hotel, top notch restaurant, very quiet, comfortable room with an immaculate, luxurious bathroom (including great L’Occitane toiletries!), and excellent wifi! A shout out to all the perfect, helpful staff who made my stay memorable with their kindness. I recommend eating takeout cake from Ahh Toots (around the corner) on the hotel’s beautiful enclosed patio. Made my work trip feel like a relaxing vacation!

Convenient location, nice staff, well-decorated rooms, interesting concept. Walls a little thin, carpet oddly worn, and tv outdated for an otherwise classic look. The bathroom was big and beautiful but the lovely tub seemed a bit too difficult to get in and out of so didn't try.

Wonderful bespoke hotel. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Good bistro food. Huge room, cery comfortable. Impressive looking bathroom but shower could have been more powerful.

Absolutely brilliant. Lovely deluxe room and the food was amazing. Only very slight thing was that the shower wasn’t as powerful as I remember but it was still pretty decent! Staff were great, very helpful

Wonderful stay with attentive staff and delicious breakfast. This hotel has got a kind of relaxing quality to it, we slept like babies, the room temperature, the quiet street and the bedding made for a fantastic night sleep. Also loved the deco in the restaurant and bar. Strongly recommended

Just lacking the final tad of refinement
Just a few niggles: 1. The city map offered was frankly laughably useless. 2. The less than smiling receptionist could not pinpoint the hotel on the pathetic map. 3. We were told brusquely that the hotel does not provide a newspaper ordering service and was vague where the nearest paper shop was. 4. In an otherwise ok room the lighting was too dim/gloomy to sit and read. All that said it was a satisfactory stay but definitely 4-star and not 5.

Lovely hotel with a 'boutique' feeling. We extended our stay by a couple of days. The staff are welcoming and helpful. We moved from a standard room to one of the signature suites (Harveys) which is lovely. Being a frequent traveller there are one or two things that it would have been nice to have - such as a Smart TV so that we could log into our streaming accounts - but all pretty minor things really. Everything was clean and well looked after. On the whole we really enjoyed our stay there. The location is convenient for either the city centre or the harbourside area. If you want a good quality hotel but don't want to stay in one of the standard large chains, I'd definitely recommend Hotel du Vin Bristol.

We had a lovely 2 night stay in mid December and decided to push the boat out. The most amazing bath, big lovely room and probably the best hote shower to day. My only qualms were that the windows didn’t open and bathroom window wasn’t frosted, so we needed the blind closed which was a shame. £25 per night for parking felt steep, but the car was right outside. From the moment we arrived it was amazing! Friendly, welcoming reception staff. Our upgraded hotel room, Pol Roger was great with a separate shower and bath on a mezzanine floor above the bedroom. Very quiet and peaceful but an ideal place to explore Bristol from. Bar staff were also helpful and chatty. Will return without doubt!

This is a lovely hotel with bags of character. It is centrally located with generous size rooms and a great bar and dining area. I did not bring a car, but I think the parking is limited. As a dog owner, also fantastic that Hotel du Vin welcomes dogs! Highly recommend.

Really spacious and individual rooms, bed was very comfy, slept like a log. Staff were lovely. The roll top bath was amazing. The enormous walk in rainfall shower was perhaps a tad enthusiastic. The only bad thing I have to say is on such a large room, a 43 inch TV that has been lobotomised of every single smart function would be an issue if you wanted to watch anything other than live TV. It was a Samsung TV and we have up to date Samsung phones and there was no way to stream, miracast or otherwise link to it. Put a 65 inch plus, 'functional' flatscreen on the wall and that would be perfect. The sofa in the room had a couple of stains as well. Other than that a lovely suite for a two night stay. Much better than other places I looked to book in Bristol.

The hotel is starting to fade
I have stayed here many times over the years, but unfortunately the hotel is starting to fade and the room I was allocated was very noisy as the double-glazing was ineffective - the furniture was also getting a little bit tatty. It is a shame because the staff are always great - the group that own it just need to maintain it to a much higher standard or they will lose customers to rival hotels.....

Hotel Du Vin is a great place to stay it has all he qualities of a top class hotel. I would highly recommend the only issue I have is onsite parking or lack of it. Other that that it is pure class.

We stay at Hotel du Vin regularly and it is mostly excellent. However on this stay we booked a signature suite expecting the very large room with mezzanine bathroom and two baths we’d stayed in before. Instead we were given a much smaller room with a balcony. While the balcony would be nice in summer, in November it was pointless. The room itself was similar to a deluxe room but much much more expensive. It was also much noisier and the night’s sleep was very poor.
