"The Penny is such a great place to stay in Williamsburg! As first-time visitors to New York, we loved being just across the water — it offered a completely different perspective of the Big Apple while still being super convenient for getting into Manhattan. There are plenty of fantastic places to eat nearby — we’d recommend Four Horsemen and L’Industrie Pizzeria for dinner, and Apollo Bagels for breakfast! We stayed in a Queen Room, which was the perfect size for two people. We loved the vibe and the beds were super comfy and the room was quiet. Having a fridge, sink, and kettle was really useful, and we appreciated the complimentary in-room coffee too. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to check out the rooftop bar since we were so busy exploring the city, but it looked great. The staff were friendly and helpful — we had a few questions about our bill, and they resolved everything quickly. We did have a couple of small issues with the room upon arrival (some lights not working and the toilet door not closing properly), but it didn’t affect our stay overall and we let the staff know. We really enjoyed our time at The Penny and would happily stay again!"

"Stayed overnight after long flight from Asia. Checked in after 10 pm. The staff were responsive and efficient. The hotel room was clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Generally, quiet, though you could hear the subway at regular intervals. There was no coffee machine in the room but there was coffee available in the lobby. There are a few small cafes in the area for an inexpensive breakfast. Will definitely stay there again in the future."
