Best Western Plus Ruby's Inn

Best Western Plus Ruby's Inn

8/10 Good
"This is an aging property but is largely well-maintained and you can see they are working on upkeep and offer a ton of amenities and activities in a location with very limited options otherwise. They were repaving the street and the noise was incessant. Unfortunately, our king room had a jetted hot tub and the room smelled of mildew. But it was the only room available unless we wanted to wait.... and since we were only there one night we didn't complain. The cowboy buffet for lunch was of poor quality, bland, and overpriced. The included buffet breakfast was poor and my husband left with a stomach ache and not from overeating. But I will say that the service on both occasions that we used the restaurant was very good. And the front desk staff and cleaning crews were excellent. We did go to the rodeo they hold every Wednesday thru Saturday night in season. The senior price of $22 each was high for what it was (packed in like sardines on metal bleachers if you got a seat for the 90 minute affair and a line at the concession stand that lasted all night). But it was about the only entertainment in town. And afterwards, nothing was open for dinner. So if you're going we suggest you plan ahead and eat beforehand. They're building a new Best Western Grand across the street and the signage is poor when you're new to the area. But the new place, though it looks sleek and modern, will lack the rustic pioneer charm of Ruby's Inn."
