Staffing was very nice! They are the definitely best part of this resort. The food was terrible!! Barely any entertainment on site for adult or kids. Nice view and right by the beach though. Rooms were okay. Our bathroom kept making noises. Overall, it’s decent for a budget friendly trip but I wouldn’t come here again.

Food excellent. Even though this is an older resort, it’s quite nice. Manuel in the cafe Solaris was excellent! Poor service around adults only pool. Our shower did not drain properly. Lots of construction in next resort made it hard to relax and sit on patio. Overall, staff friendly. Some washcloths dingy.

We stayed in a room which seemed to be above their entertainment theatre and it was very noisy. It was especially disruptive waking up to hearing tables being moved in the middle of the night between 1am and 3am every night. Other than that, the room and food were decent. Staff were friendly.

Plus: resort is clean and small but what is nice is the adult pool has the Mexican restaurant between the party pool and the adult pool and it blocks out the noise from the party pool so that the adult pool is peaceful and relaxing and might I add the hot tub is actually hot, very unusual for carribean resorts. Minus: only 3 al carte restaurants and one of the pool bars was closed. Also, the night time theatre shows only last 30 min and are quite uneventful.

We stayed at this resort about 10 years ago and loved it. We had small kids so the size was perfect. We took a quick adult trip and were a bit disappointed. Room: The room was clean and nice. They would only give us 2 beers a day, which sucked. Also, we didn't have any extra blankets and froze the first night. Restaurants: We really enjoyed the restaurants. I was very upset that we could only eat 2 dinners during our stay. All-inclusive, I expect to be able to eat at any of the restaurants I want as many times as I want. The buffet food was just okay.

We had a wonderful time at GR Solaris Cancun and Spa. Traveled with another couple. Everyone from reception to concierge to servers in all of the restaurants and bars and servers at the pool area were excellent. Very kind, fast, friendly and they all work so hard. Special shout out to Angel and Feliciano, great energy and friendliness.We already miss you guys! Food was great, lots of choices and fresh and delicious. During our 1 week stay, we had 3 dinners at specialty restaurants and our favorite was Mexican Don Gus restaurant. The dishes they had were not your typical Mexican food and they had great wine and beautiful view of the beach. As far as entertainment, every night at 9 pm they had an amazing show, we enjoyed all of them very much and they are all very talented. I can't recommend this resort enough, we had amazing time and would love to come back.

The overall hotel experience was positive. Staff are responsive and helpful. Clean and well maintained. The food, however, was disappointing in a few ways. Very disappointing that with a 7 night stay we were only allowed to make restaurant reservations for 3 nights and the other nights either eat at the buffet or get on a wait list in the hopes of getting into a restaurant. When we complained we were told to eat at the buffet-fine for families but not for adults who wanted a nicer experience. The restaurants were only open on alternate nights. The buffet was plentiful but same every day. Evening entertainment was decent but not very creative compared to other resorts. Daytime activities by the pool were energetic and fun. There was a fair amount of sunny and shady places to lounge but few umbrellas at the beach. Nearby was a place for free kayaking but when we went there the staff were at lunch ( no one to cover) so we didnt get to enjoy that.

The 2 things that were great: easy access to the beautiful beach and amazing staff. However, everything else was just okay. The food had its moments (only a few ok entrees), but the aguas frescas were the worst thing I’ve ever tasted-- too sugary! Also, there were no chilaquiles! So sad. Anyways, regarding the room, it was difficult to rest/sleep. The beds are not comfy, my sheets were a bit dirty, and the entrance doors are loose (with a big gap at the bottom). The walls are paper thin, so you can hear almost everything going on with your next door neighbors, your front neighbors, and literally anything going on in the halls. You will hear people getting back to their rooms late at night, doors closing echo, I even heard people watching TikToks at night. Also, the construction next door was so loud. But, hey, I guess this is what you get for the price you pay.

Overall, we had a nice stay at GR Solaris Cancun. The resort has a great beachfront location, a relaxed atmosphere, and friendly, hardworking staff who clearly try their best. The pools and beach access were highlights and made the stay enjoyable. However, there were several downsides that stood out. The food was consistently disappointing for an all-inclusive resort. Meals were repetitive, underseasoned, and often lacked flavor, making dining one of the weaker parts of the experience. On top of that, it was surprisingly difficult to make dinner reservations at the restaurants, which was frustrating and limited dining options even further. Cleanliness was also hit-or-miss. While some areas were fine, other parts of the resort felt a bit dirty or not as well maintained as expected, especially for a resort of this size. Despite these issues, we still had a pleasant stay overall thanks to the location, amenities, and staff. If food quality, cleanliness, and easy dining reservations are high priorities, this may not be the best choice—but if you’re mainly looking for beach time and a laid-back getaway, GR Solaris Cancun can still be enjoyable.
