Liz was very kind and accommodating. We had a late check-in and she was waiting on us even though she had the day off. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. Unfortunately we came to Ireland during an unseasonably warm time and the rooms did not have AC even though the listing stated it did. Keeping the windows open helped a little but allowed lots of bugs inside. Would still book again during cooler weather times.

Absolutely wonderful stay for our family. We were greeted with such warm hospitality and that continued through every minute of our stay. The charming bar/dining room and bedrooms/bathrooms were sparkling clean. The food and drink were great. While lively ( in a great way) during the day, the evenings were quiet and relaxing and the beds were very comfortable. The owner/hostess went above and beyond, providing a take-away sandwich for our horribly early departure, setting up a spectacular day of exploration of the area complete with a hand drawn map and customized tips that made it perfect for the four of us (including two teens) — we discovered so much more about the gorgeous area thanks to her. A+ stay. 5 Stars. Thank you!

This place is an absolute gem! The owner Liz, was so welcoming and wonderful during our stay and our food and drink service from JJ was first rate! We will definitely stay here again!

A place of welcome and tradition
Located on the road to Dingle and the Dingle Peninsula The Anvil Bar & Restaurant is a traditional hotel/pub in Ireland. The proprietors Liz and her son Steven were great--welcoming, hospitable, and quick to engage with assistance, stories, or ideas for our trip. The food and beverages in the pub were great. The rooms are a little dated and the beds are a bit less comfortable than what you might find in other big hotels, but the price is extremely reasonable and the welcome and hospitality more than makes up for it.

The staff didn’t even know to expect me, eventually put me in the wrong room, had to wait for a manager to arrive and sort it out. Was an hour before I was in the right room.

I definitely recommend staying at The Anvil. The food was delicious, rooms were adorable and clean. It’s a family run business and they’re absolutely fantastic. The owner spent so much time with us giving great, detailed tips for our visit to Dingle and she was spot on! If you want a great experience with friendly people, clean facilities and great food...this is the place. Next time we come through, we will definitely stay again!

The pub/restaurant is friendly and food very delicious. The rooms are on the 3rd floor and quiet. The only issue would be climbing the stairs if you have hip issues or having mobility issues.

The Anvil Bar and Restaurant was the perfect stop for my wife and I after a long day traveling around the Dingle Peninsula. The check-in was easy and very quick. The room was spacious and completely refurbished with all the latest amenities. The best of all was the wonderful discussion with co-owner Liz. She willingly helped us negotiate the local calling process and shared wonderful stories about her Irish heritage and lifestyle. The breakfast was outstanding. I would highly recommend a stay at the Anvil.

Very cute spot above a bar that is owned by the same people. Was very convenient to park and be able to have s few drinks and walk upstairs to our room. Friendly staff, the owner gave us lots of tips on what to see the next day. Not much to do in the town other than this bar and one other next door

This was our favorite stop in Ireland. Liz is absolutely wonderful and makes you feel right at home. We couldn't have asked for a better host, and the food was divine. Please consider booking with The Anvil and checking out the Dingle Peninsula.

Great stay!
We had an amazing visit. Parking was available and food and drink downstairs at the bar and restaurant. Liz was a wonderful host giving us some travel advice about the Dingle Peninsula for which I am grateful for it was lovely. It also included a delicious breakfast. When I'm in the area again I will definitely stay there and would recommend it to any traveller.

Lovely room & central location
The 3 of us stayed 3 nights & had a great time. Room was very nice & fairly roomy, lovely bathroom, although water pressure & temp was a bit hit & miss & the bed a bit shot for me (194cm). A full breakfast was provided in the restaurant each morning by our lovely host Liz. The only issue for some people would probably be the restricted hours of 9-10am. The hotel is in a great central location for exploring the Dingle Way, Killarney & the ring of Kerry.

Wonderfully renovated and spacious rooms with ensuite facilities. Parking available directly across the road---very busy with traffic, but survivable. Anthony, the chef, greeted us and helped carry our luggage up two flights of stairs to our comfortable rooms. We enjoyed two dinners and two breakfasts, along with copious amounts of alcoholic beverages during our stay. What can be more perfect than accommodations ideal for traveling the Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula PLUS a great bar an restaurant. Richard, the owner/manager is also a skilled bartender and affable landlord. Money well spent at this establishment!

Great place to stay in Ireland!
Family owned... owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. We got there sort of late, but they still managed to make us something to eat for dinner. Nice to have the pub/restaurant right downstairs! Real Irish Music and lots of locals. Not much else around, but what more do you need! Room was very clean and comfortable. Looks like they were all recently updated = modern bathrooms, etc. Everything worked (hot shower, WiFi, etc.) No elevator for luggage, but I am sure I could have gotten help from the staff if I had needed it. Owner gave us good advice as we left on what to see... as we headed to go around the Dingle Peninsula. I would definitely stay here again!

A surprising little find. Run by excellent friendly people. Rooms are very nice, look recently refurbished and scrupulously clean. Good food in the bar and a very quiet location. All in all very good.
