"The Alcanea hotel is a most unique property. It is decorated in a way that emphasizes the 500 year old fortress it is a part of. The bed was amazingly comfortable, with lovely bedding. It is situated perfectly with wonderful views, and great walks. The breakfasts were delicious! We enjoyed the Cretan foods. The staff are very kind! Eva always had time to chat and give us ideas of where to go and what to do. Georgia served us breakfast every morning. We enjoyed her very much. Our cleaning...

"Wonderful view from the hotel. Everything is very clean. Good area with frequent buses. The 97 steps down to the beach and shops will keep you fit but maybe not so good for people with mobility issues. Lovely variety at breakfast everyday. Only about 15 min car journey to Chania."
