If you're poorly prepared, travelling can be overwhelming. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints for a hassle-free start to your holiday in La Garde. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you take the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and choose shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
