"Dreadful communication, I emailed a query 3 days prior to arrival & had no response. The night before arrival I got an email saying I hadn’t paid. I’d not received a request for payment. The payment link was still not sent and on the morning of arrival I got another email saying I’d not paid shortly followed by yet another demand. Eventually they sent the link & I got instructions for entry. I arrived and sent a message asking for a parking permit. No reply for 34 minutes by which time I’d parked in the NCP car park and paid for parking. A couple had been waiting in the rain on the doorstep all the time I was waiting for a reply re parking permits as they hadn’t received entry instructions. I let them in but they still couldn’t get into their room. My room was in the basement. It was clean. You could see through the window to the room next door so curtains had to be shut for privacy. The bed linen looked like it had been sitting in the bottom of the tumble dryer for days as it was so creased & the bottom sheet was ripped in the corner. There were 2 half finished toilet rolls in the bathroom, enough for 1 night but looked like ‘leftovers!’ The attention to detail was definitely lacking. In the morning it was like a herd of elephants above me as the kitchen staff stomped around directly above my room. "

"Parked across the road, nice hotel perfect for a couples trip. Reception is friendly and check in and check out is easy. One suggestion - additional lamp(s) in the room as very bright with cieling light on, too dark with just the bedside lamps."

"Breakfast menu was quite lean on the cold/continental menu but had varied with the hot food. Could do better with the continental breakfast section. Take note that parking isn’t free or complimentary."

"Excellent hotel Well located Great breakfast and evening meals Good communal lounge areas Quirky specious room (double) Only downside was that we found the room very warm,(we had a couple of warm April days) there was a fan it didn’t really cool the room, just glad it wasn’t peak Summer. Limited parking onsite 4 spaces, but enough on street parking so no issue. Enjoyable stay overall."

"Roy the manager went over and above to help us during the check in process. Let us check in early as our room was ready. We were upgraded to a deluxe double room. The room was clean and extremely spacious had floor to ceiling windows in the bedroom and bathroom. So it felt light and airy. Lots of mod cons like a blue tooth radio and Nespresso coffee machine. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate and there was a bottle of milk and two bottles of water in the fridge. Lovely comfy bed and a great waterfall shower. I forgot to reserve parking so phoned the number on the booking and got through straight away to a real person none of this automated stuff. They sorted the parking out for us there and then. Hotel was right in the middle, walking distance from lots of bars, restaurants and cafes. Ideal for our two night break. Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay there again. "
