"This is lovely property that’s genuinely historic. I’ve stayed here quite a few times now in various rooms. The beds are comfortable and the rooms in the castle itself are well appointed and quiet. Parking is free and there’s usually plenty of space. Some guests might have difficulty with rooms on the top floor, as the lift only goes up to the first floor. We didn’t eat in the restaurant on our recent stay but boy, could we smell it in our room, number 52. It’s right above the kitchen and its exhaust vent. The breeze was blowing full-on cooking smells into our room through the small window that needed to be open during the warm weather. We complained about the overwhelming smell of meat one minute and fish the next but the hotel was full and it was not possible to move us. The hotel staff to their credit was very apologetic and offered us some of our money back. The kitchen closes around 9pm, so we went out for a walk and I sampled the bar until the air had cleared, despite us both being exhausted after a long drive. The bar is very welcoming by the way. After good night’s sleep, we went down to a good breakfast with hot food cooked to order, some of which we could smell before leaving the room…"
"Our stay at Gosforth Park is really good our room is very comfortable and clean all of the staff are very friendly and helpful the breakfasts are nicely prepared and presented and the evening meals are really nice as well as reasonably priced in fact we have just extended our stay for 3 more nights."
"Really good 3 star hotel. Great location close to lots of bars and restaurants. Rooms were a good size and clean. Very old fashioned and could do with a bit of an upgrade but definitely worth the money. Had to pay extra to use the pool which was a bit of a downside. Would definitely stay again."
"The front desk staff were really helpful with information. The breakfast was very good :Omelette really tasty.
In a very good position for the Tyne river walk."
