We had a very nice well decorated room, with comfy bed and spacious well appointed bathroom with nice towels. A good place to stay to recharge the batteries. Set in a pretty village and surroundings.

Very friendly and welcoming. Room warm and inviting. Breakfast too late for us so we were provided with a breakfast tray for our room. Would recommend.

No Food available
Arrived late due to travelling all day, only to be informed that the kitchen was closed and no food was being served on site. I was offered options locally or via delivery apps (30-45 mins delivery times). After a long day, the last thing I wanted to do was go out again looking for food and delivery options meant I would be eating far to late to sleep comfortably.

Nice stay, small room, good breakfast
Not sure I would describe it as 'Luxury', but the room was nice, good quality toiletries, tea and coffee in the room. The room (classic) was quite small, especially as we had our dog with us. We didn't eat there in the evening, but the breakfast was really good. I don't think it says anywhere, but three of the rooms are up some external metal stairs which were not that easy for the dog, but might also be tricky if you have any mobility issues. Might be good to know in advance.

Checkin really good and quick. Very clean and comfortable room. Downside - noise all night from compressor that was outside, and the very long wait for breakfast having to wait for 40 minutes (we were only the 3rd couple in just after 8.30).

After booking I received an email to say to book the restaurant as it can be busy. I bnooked a table for the Wednesday evening only to find people sat at our table. They don't put reserved signs on the table. There was nowhere else suitable so we left. Don't waste your time booking a table. Beds also small and uncomfortable.

Booked first thing in the morning for the following day. Received a phone call a few hours later to say that room shouldn’t have been released and we could no longer stay. A staff member was blamed but little meaningful apology received.

Clean and comfortable. The bed was very soft, but still had a good night’s sleep. Very quiet despite the room being above a bar. Lovely breakfast. Gorgeous rural views.

Great service and good food.
Nice accommodation and friendly service. Food was good and service excellent. Do be careful of the plant pot when walking from the rooms to the restaurant. The side path is very dark and it’s easy to walk into the plant pot. I did and badly bruised my knee!

Fabulous food and dog friendly
Great last minute one night stay. The food for both dinner and the cooked breakfast the next morning was fantastic and we loved the post dinner drink sitting by the fire. All the rooms are dog friendly and they made our Vizsla feel very welcome with dog bowls, beds and treats all provided.

Superb Stay
We could not fault our overnight stay at the Royal Oak, the room was a good size, the bed super comfy and they provided bowls and a bed for our lovely dog. The food was amazing and the staff friendly, they went out out of the way to help us enjoy our stay which included dinner up by the field whilst watching the sunset! We only wish we could have stayed longer!

A little disappointed with the room. Quite small and claustrophobic - small window in alcove, difficult to open. Hand basin in en-suite was smallest I've ever seen - and almost impossible to use, necessitated by narrow room. Shower was fine. Evening meal and breakfast were ok

We received a warm welcome to this lovely pub. The people were friendly and helpful, the food delicious and my vegan diet was creatively and tastily catered for. The bedroom and bathroom were well appointed, clean and luxurious.
