"Beautiful property out of the bustle of nearby Ambleside or Hawkshead. Lovingly cared for and staffed. Gorgeous views, delicious breakfast and dinner, and a hot shower. Hikes out the door. 5 minute walk to Beatrix Potter's home at Hill Top. We hope to return."

"The room was clean and had everything we needed"

"The Red Lion is perfectly located within the picturesque village of Hawkshead. The pub is a great, friendly place to spend the evening and the fact that they serve food is a bonus if you don't want to go out. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again."

"The property was immaculate, well furnished, cosy and homely. Everything you needed to make your stay lovely. "

"Visable damp on the bathroom wall by the shower and a very strong smell of damp in the downstairs area including bedrooms. The owner tried to disguise the smell with air fresheners and by leaving the windows open but the smell of damp was still immediately apparent on entry. Had we been staying longer than 2 nights and not arrived so late in the evening on the first night we would have left. It was a real shame because everything else about the property and surrounding area was beautiful, but...

"Nice large bedroom with view Good location"

"Really nice relaxing place"

"Parking was good and breakfast really nice."

"Room was nice but the walls are very thin and we were woken up by late night arrivals on both nights who has some drinks in them. Staff were lovely and breakfast was great. A little annoyed that we payed £10 in order to use the hotel car park but only managed to once in the entire trip as the car park was always over full."

"clean room, all you can order breakfast"

"Everything was perfect and amazing thank you so much definitely will go again"

"Excellent place to stay "

"Lovely clean room, fantastic staff, really helpful and attentive and friendly definitely be back."

"Great location and friendly staff. Some of the decor could do with updating and the shower was unusually complex to use. Overall, a lovely place to stay, and I would recommend."
