"The building was lovely, but we were on the lower ground and there was a wall obstructing our view out of the window. The room was very basic with no colour or decoration and seemed like it was put together at the last minute. We felt because we had booked via a deal we were given the very basic. Won't return"

"Hotel looked tired. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The room décor was a bit garish. Ensuite bathroom smelled damp and musty, looked well-worn. Shower worked well, but wasn't a very pleasant room to spend time in. Plentiful refreshments in room. Those staff that I encountered were helpful and pleasant. Parking was limited - all spaces in use by the time I arrived (early evening). Not very easy to get parked nearby, though parking was free if you could find a space."

"The property is very dated and would benefit from refurbishment. One of the biggest issues was the lack of air conditioning, which made the room quite uncomfortable, particularly during warmer weather. Parking was also problematic. The hotel’s parking is limited and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. We were advised by a member of staff that if we provided our vehicle registration number at reception, parking would be free. However, upon checkout, we were informed there was a £36 parking charge. I disputed this, as this was never mentioned when we checked in. In the end, we were unable to secure a parking space at the hotel anyway and had to park on the road for the duration of our stay. Breakfast was another disappointment. On one morning, staff informed guests that more people had arrived than anticipated, resulting in several basic breakfast items running out, including bread, eggs, beans and other essentials. While I appreciate that unexpected demand can occur, I would have expected the hotel to be better prepared. Overall, the stay did not meet expectations, particularly given the issues with parking, breakfast availability and the dated condition of the property."

"Overall a good stay. My standard room was located on the 2nd floor with no lift in that part of the hotel. It was compact - suitable for one person but would be tight for two - as I was travelling alone maybe that’s why I was placed there. Two of the three window openings were on safety latches so airflow through the room was limited and with the warm weather it did get extremely hot. Breakfast was self service - there were a range of hot and cold options - hot options were scrambled eggs, beans, hash browns, bacon, sausages, black pudding and toast. A choice of eggs (fried / poached) and mushrooms would have been welcomed. Food in the restaurant was nice. Facilities were good - having a pool, a gym and outdoor enclosed seating area was welcomed. Parking at the hotel was £10 per night - it was ok getting a space on Friday evening but coming back from a day trip on Sunday evening I had to park on a nearby road."
