We stayed at The Pheasant Inn for one night enroute to Glasgow. Checking in they struggled to find our reservation but once found, the room we had was generous and absolutely lovely.
We booked then for an evening meal. When we came down it was all totally disorganised. Drinks and meals had to be ordered from the bar accompanied with a table number (not a room number!) the problem was that we had got moved table 4 times before we eventually had our meal!
Locals in were complaining that they couldn’t book a table to eat and when they arrived there was so much confusion going on and the fact that you had to queue up to place your order was terrible!!
We have stayed at Inn Collection Hotels before and they have been superb - this one was totally let down by their restaurant and meal service in the evening. The food, once ordered, arrived very quickly and was piping hot but was pretty average. Breakfast was fine but once again, we had to order the food at the bar! The staff were actually very pleasant but no one was overseeing the management of the place!
