Hotels near Colonial Quarter Museum

"Nightmare, is an understatement. The Home Depot bucket collecting water dripping from the ceiling in the main entrance area- could have been a dead give away. It got worse. People were smoking drugs on the staircase, and right outside our door. The room was not swept and the tub had hairs. The second room we looked at, smelled like a bottle of bleach had been used to cover up something or another and the personal air purifier placed in the room had a dirty filter. Sadly, this room was not better than the first. My allergies started acting up, so, needless to say we left. The pictures on the website are far from reality. I have called three days straight to speak to the manager- Renee, to no avail. She does not answer calls."

"Carriage Way Inn is located in a great part of town. Away from crowds, yet within a block or two of main touristy streets. Room could have been slightly cleaner - its an old building, but we noticed dirt on the floor and in other areas. Not a distasteful dirt, but noticeable. AC worked great - room was well appointed. Staff was GREAT - VERY accommodating and helpful. I'd go back just for the staff and the way they treated their guests. It was magnificent! One last point - although away from crowds, room was often noisy from traffic or people walking outside the door. Its an old building (as noted) so not very soundproof. At times you felt like people or cars were at your doorstep!"

"The breakfaat was ok. Our first room smelled horribly of mildew/mold and we saw moldy spots on the curtains above the ac. We requestwd another room, was better but not by much. We cleaned things ourselves with clorox wipes and a little swiffer mop, definitely was not cleaned peoperly before. Dust on walls and does not resemble pictures. Chair in room was nasty looking, I actually requested an extra sheet to cover it with. Pool wasn't kept up with, full of leaves and peoples hair. Breakfast was ok. We will not ever stay there again, it may be a cheaper end price range but thats no excuse for filth and mold/mildew. Snapped a few pictures but this was the second room and after we had done cleaned most of thebsiefaces we would be touching. "

"This hotel did not disappoint! The hotel is beautiful and very well-maintained. My husband and I both agreed that it is the nicest hotel in the area! The service is great! Love the location, and love Vilano Beach. We will stay here again!"
