The first night was stressful because so many ants were in our room. The night reception staff offered to change the room because they couldn't do anything at night, and we had to move to a slightly smaller room with a family in the middle of the night. The lady at the reception with glasses- unfortunately, I didn't get her name- was very friendly, professional and helped us with directions to go to Milan Central. We tried to order room service on the 2nd night, but no one picked up the call. Complained to reception, but the cant do much because the restaurant is busy handling the dining guests, which was disappointing. After all, you can't go outside because there is no takeaway or restaurant within walking distance of the hotel and the taxis to expnsive from any small distance. The shuttle service was very good if you need to go to Milan Central or Lake Como from the hotel. Breakfast was good. The hotel is in a very quiet place. If you enjoy busy city life, then stay near Milan, and easy to take the train from there as well to Lake Como.

The breakfast is amazing! Very clean and spacious rooms. Staff are great from reception to the servers. We are staying in the executive rooms and they gave us permission to eat and drink everything in the minibar/fridge throughout our stay with a personalized letter. Very close to the Genova Brignole train station and close/walking distance to a lot of restaurants/the fun things happening around, quite a few grocery stores within 2-3 minutes walk, there’s a farmers market style open market (Like Granville Island in Vancouver BC within 3 minutes walk; Called MOG Genoa where you can buy lots of fresh food stuffs if you need, the UNESCO protected historical buildings (Piazza De Ferrari, Aquarium of Genoa, Porto Antico etc are within 10-15 minutes walk one way). Beautiful hotel, loved our stay, will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Genoa 🇮🇹

How this hotel earned four stars is a mystery. It looks like it was designed by a high teenager. The most unacceptable thing was a backed up sink with hair that would just emerge and linger. I told the guy at the counter after check in but he neglected to fix it. And if you think your kids might be entertained by the life size super heroes that pepper this place consider there are graphic depictions of lurid sex on the walls of the elevator and the cushions in the lobby were made to resemble condoms. I cannot envision anyone smart staying here. The staff should be ashamed to work there. The bartenders were nice though. But I couldn't wait to leave this tasteless mess of a hotel. And I'm damned sure Louis Vuitton didn't give permission for their logo to be blasted all over the bathroom wall. Ugh. The best thing about Collini in Milan was I was able to leave.
