"Parking was awful. people were taking up two spots at a time while there was minimal parking as is. I was blocked from leaving at one point from cars cramming themselves into spots that were even allowed !! It was so upsetting"

"One of the many properties lining shelter island, a bit dated with odd architecture from the outside but renovated on the inside, has a bar and restaurant that is expectedly pricey, there is little dining on and around shelter island but a 5-7 minute drive down Rosecrans street has ample dining and fast food. Rooms overlooking the bay eastward have an okay view as there is the road across the front of the property and there is little in the bay itself and on the other shore is the naval base, on the contrary the westward marina facing rooms have a great view of the marina and the hilly township across. Nice large heated pool and dining area overlooking the marina. The structure is only two stories and even though the upper level rooms are premium the lower floor rooms seem just as good with deep offset balconies and no privacy issues from the upper floor. Rooms are clean and seem upgraded, beds are comfortable, linen clean. Floor was spongy in one section and walking there transferred it to the bed. Rather small tv with limited channel options. Parking is ample but costs $24 a night Free coffee in the morning off the bar, there is breakfast at the restaurant, pricey of course and the coffee with breakfast is not free. The rooms were actually cheaper on Expedia the day of check-in and when brought to the attention of the front desk, they said we don't know what you paid to Expedia, take it up with them, felt impersonal and smug. Overall a pleasant stay."

"It smelled like urine and or chemicals. There was lots of construction going on so it wasn't pretty to look at and a lot of noise. Pool was dirty and there was no skimmer to clean it. The internet went out and there was no hair dryer or extra blankets in the room"

"The room was very clean, a little small though. The tv was placed right in front of the mirror which was very strange. There was no comforter, just a blanket between two sheets. My husband and I got a room with 2 queen beds so we could STRETCH OUT! However, one of the beds felt like it was made of wood, zero give, not at all comfortable. We ended up cuddled up on the one bed anyway. The staff was very nice and pleasant. They do not offer breakfast, but there's a restaurant on site. $45 breakfast for 2. But it was very good, seriously...try the waffles. The main reason I will not be going back for future stays is the anti 420 stance. I'm 56 with a bad hip and that's my only pain relief. I'm not a rule breaker, so I did not vape on the property, but I wasn't happy with it. This was also the very first time I have had to pay for parking at a hotel where I was staying. Overall it's a cute place, a nicer than ordinary motel. Pay a little more and go with an actual hotel if you want my honest opinion."
