The River's Edge Motel Lodge & Resort

"This is a really sweet little place to stay. The manager John is outstanding. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable in a Native American style. There were hand carved wooden animal statues dotted around the gardens, lush with flowers even in May. Right on the Uncompaghre River, trees all around and stunning views of the mountains when you walked out your door. It was quiet, just down the hill from the Main Street of Ouray. Box Canyon is an easy drive from there. The continental breakfast was very simple but all you really needed. Eggs and yogurt were added for the asking. I’d stay there again."

"We had a great time as a family of 5 with friends also traveling with us. (Originally we were informed they didn't have conjoined rooms, however pleasantly learned they did after our arrival). The hot tub was nice, sauna was roomy. We enjoyed playing darts and other games in the lobby. Beds were comfortable and rooms were nice!"

"It's an older motel, which I knew when I booked it. It was clean; however, there was a musty/moldy smell in the bathroom but no visible signs of mold - perhaps in the walls? This is a picky thing of mine, but I hate when different lights are in the same light fixture, some soft-white and others cool white. I know - 1st world problems, but details matters."

"As a base camp, this property worked well. The cabin was clean and the bed was comfortable. The water pressure and temperature were good. The wi-fi was pretty weak, which we were warned about early in our booking. There does need to be some work done on the property itself. The roads were ok but everything else was really just sparse. We never could figure out where the private hiking trail was. I don't quite know how a person would actually play Frisbee golf because they would have to throw around the cabins and parked cars. We had no interaction with staff except for when we went to breakfast. The breakfast was average and the people who were there were friendly. Would stay again for a short stint, but not for a long trip. This place can be a gem with just a bit of work on the grounds."

"This motel exceeded our expectations! The room was spotless, comfortable, and a great size with two beds. Everything was clean, welcoming, and well cared for. We had a relaxing stay, slept great, and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We would highly recommend this motel to anyone visiting Pagosa Springs."
