Top Damnaglaur Hotel Reviews
Lakeview Guest House
10/10 Excellent
"Everything was as promised including our delightful host who made sure nothing was left to chance. I highly recommend this property."
The Waterfront Hotel & Bistro
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely hotel for a few days in port Patrick. The staff were very helpful and looked after my wife and I. The room was adequate with everything we needed for our 3 day stay. The bathroom was of a good size but the shower was difficult to get in and out. Loads of walking options available and every where was dog friendly. The food was really good and the breakfast was first class. The lady looking after us at breakfast was so helpful and a really nice. Great place to stay."
Fernhill Hotel
8/10 Good
"My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights in the junior suite room in the old part of the hotel The room was lovely and large with some original features. Very large seperate bathroom with โantiqueโ fixtures and fittings Very large double bed which was very comfortable Stunning views across Portpatrick and across the Irish sea. Great staff, friendly and helpful Veggie breakfast was hot and freshly cooked (but could have been bigger) Evening meal had several veggie options (pizza, squash pie, curry, burger) but these could have been better Would be happy to stay here again but I'd also hope by then the hotel has taken a few steps forward refresh the rooms. Paintwork is looking tired; fix what needs fixing; bathroom window didn't close properly and was sealed by tape add a few small touches โ eg shower cap; replace the rubber plug in the bathroom sink with something more fitting extend the veggie menu โ pasta, salads, risotto"

"The Inn was suitable for a stopover to the car ferry to Belfast. Close to shops and restaurants. The host was very helpful and friendly."
The Harbour House Hotel
8/10 Good
"It is right next to the water and has a nice position and view of the rest of the small town (village). We would stay again if we had to, as we couldn't find a place to stay in the actual town of Stranraer the Inn is located in Portpatrick). It was adequate for the price. We ate somewhere else, but the restaurant seemed busy. It was also pretty quiet for a pub/restaurant in the summer, which we appreciated."
The Kenmuir Arms Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kenmuir Arms hotel. Located in a wee picturesque village we found the staff friendly and accommodating. Room one was very clean with a very comfortable king-sized bed and the shower had great water pressure. Highly recommend the creative food prepared by international Chef-Patron Christopher Dougan (recently awarded in February 2025 Scotland's Dining Discovery of the Year and 5 AA Gold Stars and 2 AA Rosettes). Every meal was creatively prepared with local ingredients and fine dining flair, yet not overly pretentious. Chef was very accommodating for my request for gluten-free tasting menu at dinner. Every dish was delicious and it was a delight to not know what dish was coming next. The full Scottish breakfast with homemade sausage, black pudding, and haggis was a great way to start each day. The pub had selections of local beer and spirits. We were visiting the area to see Sam Heughanโs Galloway Distillery. It was a treat every afternoon to have drinks made with Harbor Hills Gin and Sassanach Vodka on the patio near a babbling brook and a stone bridge."
