Perfect
Very comfortably situated next to the fair grounds, so could leave the car at the hotel and walk up. Free parking until 12 hours after arrival. Good breakfast buffet. Fast and stable WiFi internet. Unfortunately limited restaurants at walking distance, but Strobel had perfect dishes and they accept credit cards. ( in German restaurants an adventure sometimes )

The beds are horrible two tiny beds squashed together with a tiny heavy comforter that makes you sweat like a pig falls off if turn over I complained to staff their answer this German style beds cannot do anything. No sleep 3 days glad to move out.

Nothing to complain very much but nothing to wow.
Guests stucked in the lift didn't wait long for help but reaction of the staff shown it wasn't the first time it happened. The lift should have been out of service but wasn't and five minutes later it happened again to another guest. Rooms very comfortable and clean.

Lovely hotel with friendly & efficient staff
Lovely, helpful staff (both before & during our stay). Took delivery of tickets for us, and also took our bags to our room after we left them there when we arrived in Dortmund but before check-in opened. Hotel had great transport links as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Mercure Hotel - Dortmund - Excellent Service
Dortmund is a fabulous city with great parks and lovely people. The hotel was exceptionally helpful, spoke fluent English. I was travelling with my daughter and because I could not leave the hotel at night the hotel offered me a couple of free beers for the room. Could not rate them highly enough

Clean hotel and near stadium. Was charged for “business package “ that includes breakfast incorrectly ($76 euro)and when I called them to make the adjustments, was advised had to email in the request. Odd that she couldn’t just credit it. Haven’t receive any responses to my email yet. One morning, someone came into room while we were sleeping , could have been cleaning staff but we’re not too sure.

Amazing location if you are going to a futbol game. Easily accessible from subway and train station and only about a 10 min cab ride from central train station in Dortmund.

Ideal location if watching Borussia Dortmund
This is the second time I've booked this hotel whilst attending a Borussia Dortmund football match. Location could not be better. Stadium is literally a 2 minute walk. Hotel has everything you need, including friendly staff. Would stay here again if I return in the future.

We were here with my wife for the star trek convention. Hotel is great. Very quite and in a nice place. A bit far away from the city but there are nice restaurants within walking distance

Perfect for Football!
My son and I booked this hotel as we were going to watch the Dortmund football match against Schalke. The hotel was in the perfect location as it offered car parking, a decent room to stay in and a very short walk to the football stadium. It was absolutely perfect for us and I would definitely recommend the hotel if you are going to the match. Staff at the hotel were excellent and all spoke English, which helped us out!

Excellent location for the football
This is a great hotel if you are going to a Borussia Dortmund game as the stadium is a few hundred yards away. The hotel is very quiet with great sound proofing so a good nights sleep is easily achieved. The breakfast is good but expensive at 18 Euros. The only downside to this hotel is that it's a few miles from the centre and can feel a little isolated. A taxi to the train station is around €10 and there is the underground, but it's not the ideal place to stay if you're on a lads weekend. There are a few decent restaurants nearby but not too many bars

Hotel was great until breakfast was charged twice
The hotel and location were great. I booked the room through Expedia and paid for breakfast included. When I checked out I was again charged Euro 18 for breakfast which in Germany is included with the booking. Euro 18 for breakfast is a ridiculous price that is charged in the first place and then twice is too much. I caution all people travelling and using the site to double check what they are getting and make sure to have everything in writing before accepting the offer.

Perfect location if attending football match
Hotel is ideal if attending a Borussia Dortmund match, as we did. The stadium is less than a 5 minute walk. Perfect location It is also 5 minutes from the metro station to get into the centre of Dortmund

It's ok, good parking. Room comfortable but old. Right in front of a stadium, be careful with traffic on a game day. Internet not too good.

We had a fabulous stay at the hotel, staff were excellent. Close to public transport and the signal iduna park. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone

Great hotel
It was our first stay in this hotel with a couple of young kids, room was quite big and comfy, well equipped, clean. Staff pleasant and friendly, nice restaurant although choice of meals could have been better. Nice quiet location, lots of trees around, easy access. Loved the pool and sauna. Definitely will come back again.

Nice hotel but building work spoilt stay
We used the Mercure Dortmund to break up a long drive from Germany to the UK, the roads around the hotel are a bit of a maze but it was found ok with sat-nav. Some of the hotel's parking was out of use so we had to wait for someone to leave to get a space, but it was free. Staff were very friendly and spoke good English, room was a nice size with free mini-bar items, and good bed & bathroom. Starting to look a tiny bit tired around the edges but still good standard for the price. Unfortunately we were given a room overlooking renovation works and the work started at 7am, including pneumatic drilling... so not the most relaxing wake-up call ever! In hindsight I should have asked for a room higher up or on the other side of the hotel, but as the hotel didn't seem hugely busy it would've been better if they sited guests away from the building works or had them start the 'heavy stuff' later, as after a couple of hours the workers started quietly gardening! The air-con also seemed not to be able to cool the room sufficiently, and we had to have the windows closed due to the building work. We weren't there to see football or a concert, but this hotel would be a perfect choice if you were.

Great stay!!
It was good, clean and brilliant if you are going to Dortmund for the stadium. It is situated in a great place with easy access to the train which takes you into the city. No complaints at all with anything from the hotel it was a great weekend stay and would recommend it if your going there for the football.

Good hotel for Westfalenhallen
Perfect loaction for meetings in the Westfalenhallen. Comfortable hotel with very friendly staff. Note the pool is very small so more suited to a dip than doing lengths.

The good stuff: Extremely close to the Signal Iduna Park and also close to a subway station; Nice and helpful staff; Free parking which exceeds beyond check-out time (very nice if match time is in the afternoon of the day you check out); Everything in the mini-bar is free (including beers, waters and energy drinks)! Room for improvement: The room we got did not look anything like the one shown on websites (not sure if it is because we got a smoking room) and requires renovation.

Für die Veranstaltung Mayday hier übernachtet (zumindest wenige Stunden ;) ) und kann ich nur empfehlen. Kurzer Fußweg, sehr sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, saubere, großzügige Zimmer, anständige Rolläden um das Zimmer richtig abzudunkeln. Es gibt NICHTS zu beanstanden. Als “normaler” Hotelgast an solch Veranstaltungen natürlich dringend abzuraten, da nächtliche Ruhe natürlich nicht gegeben ist.

Für einen Besuch z.B. im Signal Iduna Park, oder bei einem Veranstaltungsbesuch in den Westfalenhallen (wie in unserem Fall), perfekt gelegen. Mitten in der Stadt, baer sehr ruhig gelegen. Saubere, moderne Zimmer, tolles Frühstücksbüffet und ausnahmslos nettes Personal. Auch ausreichend Parkplätze sind vorhanden (inkl. E-Ladesäulen)
