Visiting relatives in the area so I needed somewhere clean and comfortable to stay. It was conveniently located enabling easy access to local places of interest.
Staying at the hotel for the scotland in bloom awards i was made very welcome from the owner and staff . A very friendly hotel a good laugh and wonderfull stay . I would stay at the hotel again and aslo recomend to others . Thanks Peter for the kind words and friendly welcome and paul for the nice breakfast and the friendly welcome . The local people who were in at the time of my stay were friendly
A great place to stay at a great price!
Staff (didn't get his name) couldn't have been nicer, really friendly and welcoming.
Bed and pillows were so comfy.
Towels a little shabby and open electrical socket in our room but those were the only 2 downsides.
Drinks were a reasonable price in the bar... bonus.
Plenty of free on site parking.
We will definitely stay here again.
Absolutly loved staying here, we were just sad that it was only for one night. The room was fab, spacious and clean. The service was great, the guys couldn't have done more for us, nothing was a bother and the breakfast the next morning was cooked really well. We will be back soon and for longer.
Staff were very helpful and welcoming . Hotel is very basic but is does what it says on the tin rooms very small but fir what your paying they are sufficient. Lovely breakfast to finish so if anyone looking for a basic room at good value would recommend .
Staff are so lovely and welcoming, went over and above to help one of our party who burst a tyre before arriving, breakfast was lovely and the room was clean and tidy. We will definitely be returning
The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Only slept here, after attending a wedding
Apparently being refurbished. Toilet smelled of urine. Holes in doors and tiles off walls. Cooker had not bee cleaned. We only slept there fir a few hours overnight, after attending a wedding, but won't return.
Clean and comfortable. We stayed in the family room and it was perfect! Only one thing we would’ve liked was more plugs in the room, but other than that it was great! Excellent service and breakfast was nice. Perfect location to Dumfries, not in the centre but handy to everything. Would definitely stay again.

Close to ice bowl rink
Hotel has recently been taken over - New owner is in the process of renovating the hotel which will make a big difference. The manager of the hotel is friendly and makes you very welcome, as do the other staff members. Breakfast was very good. Our stay cost us £55 which for bed & breakfast was a great price.

good overnight stop
reception is in the bar just inside main front entrance. very friendly welcome and minimum formalities. under new management and renovations are still ongoing. room was basic but clean and beds comfortable, en suite ok. breakfast room pleasant and food was good. at nearly £20 cheaper than nearest alternate represents fair value. if price remains the same after work completed then it will represent very good value.
Very basic bed and breakfast - in need of refurbishment.
Pleasant staff and decent breakfast.
Cheap as chips.
You get what you pay for.

Basic but ideal..
Booked for one night room only. Ok, it wasn’t spotless, a few marks on the carpet, no mirror in the bedroom, strange decor, but we only needed a bed for the night. It was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly, nice enough bar area and close enough to walk into town.
