Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in North East (Erie) by IHG
2/10 Terrible
"We booked here for the weekend to attend a cheer competition with some other cheer families. Several families had extremely dirty rooms….one even requested a refund and went somewhere else. Our room was luckily clean which was the only decent part of our stay. I purposely chose this place because of the sauna and was looking forward to it all week. Upon arrival, I was told the sauna was broken and they had no clue when it would be fixed. I had booked a suite and it was right across the elevator. The walls are so thin they might as well be plastic. I heard people coming and going 24/7. The people in the room next to me sounded like a bunch of elephants doing aerobics. Kids yelling and screaming up and down the halls when it’s supposed to be “quiet time”. It’s not enforced at all. I got maybe 3 hours of sleep the whole weekend. Ice machine on our floor was also broken. When I went to check out I wasn’t even asked how my stay was. The girl at the front desk just said I was all set and walked away. Extremely disappointed."
Holiday Inn Express Grand Island - Niagara Falls by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"The breakfast that I ate was great coffee juice fruit was fresh the staffs was approachable great environment
Keep up the good work management team once the head is on properly the whole body will run smoothly "
"Horrible experience. We checked in shortly after 8 pm. Room 320. Shortly after getting to the room, loud yelling was next door. It went on for over an hour. Profanity and extremely loud. Stopped about 10 pm, but started again at 11:30 and ladyed over 2 hrs. This was adjacent room with a shated internal room. I headed to the front desk to report (couldnt get an answer to phone to desk). A staff member wasbin the hall and simply told me "we are aware". The noise continued until 4am. Literally no sleep.
We showered in the morning and there was no blow drier in the room. Called the fr9nt desk and got an answer this time. Was told that there should have been a blow drier in the room, but they would have one brought to us. After waiting for nearly a half an hour, my wife went to the desk to inquire when one might arrive. The clerk told her they gad searched the desk area and there wasnt one there. He said he went to a room, however and took a photo of how there should have been one on the wall and showed it to her. My wife assured him that one was NOT on our room wall.
Clerk said he would then check "the managers area" and see if he could get one. He returned to tell her that he could not find one and would not be able to get my wife a dryer, but her "hair looked fine.""
"Rooms especially bathrooms really run down. Shower was peeling, carpet is dirty and beds and Pillows are lumpy .
Staff was very helpful and friendly
will not stay again .
"
"Comfortable, large, clean room. Breakfast ok. The property is very dated and run down. Needs updating. Also people in room across from me loud until midnight and hall smelled like smoke.
A smoke alarm battery went off at night and when I called front desk from my room, the connection was not good and the staff member couldn’t hear me. I had to go downstairs to tell her. It took about an hour for the beeping to stop. The next morning she said she had just taken it off the wall?! There are 2 other hotels in the immediate vicinity right near UB North campus. I’d stay at one of those instead. "
"I stayed at La Quinta Inn, 6619 Transit Rd, Williamsville. The room had cleanliness problems: the bed sheets had hair and even a grocery receipt, which was unacceptable and very disappointing. Breakfast was poor quality — waffles were gummy and rubbery, there was no cream cheese available, and the coffee tasted weak and watery. Overall the property needs to improve housekeeping and breakfast service. I reported these issues to management; I hope they address sanitation and food quality so future guests don’t have the same experience. The management may be Indian and from them you never expect good quality as they love money at any cost."
