"This is an out-of-the-ordinary Spanish parador. To be chosen by those on honeymoon, be it for those just married or those celebrating 50 years. The hotel is adjacent to a formidable castle, open for visitation. And there is a gorgeous hike into the woods, also adjacent to the hotel. Jaen is an interesting town, too. Wonderful room in a very cozy hotel with an excellent period feel and decor, including a delightful, cozy, common living area with tea, coffee, delicious chocolates and other goodies provided for all guests by the hotel. Wonderful, warm, welcoming staff in every single instance! They must all be commended for their kindness, sincerity, co stant good cheer, and consistent willingness to be helpful at every turn. We would stay there again in a heartveat!

I noticed ants around the toilet bowl and was also bitten by ants during my stay. There is no kettle in the room. Complimentary tea and hot water are only available in the lobby after 7 pm, which I found a little inconvenient, especially if you want a hot drink at other times. No tissues in the room.
