The wait staff was very informative, but when we got to our rooms the floors were soaking wet!!! We were told we would not be able to seitch rooms as the hotel was booked.

This was a quick overnight as we had an early trip. Hotel La Reine is in walking distance of the city center and has many stores and eating places in it's surroundings.

The first room we were given was very dirty mainly the carpet but also someone had been smoking in the room and it stank of cigarettes we were given another room which was a lot cleaner. The hotel whilst it is clean is very tired and would benefit from a little talc. The rooms could do with painting a lighter colour to brighten them up. Can’t fault the staff really lovely and very helpful. Just seemed very basic for the money

Very basic, not even a kettle in the room. Room looked tired and needed redorating. Lady on reception was very helpful Felt expensive for just a room. With no extras eg. Breakfast

What we loved: * Location: Best possible location to explore the city * Staff: Every staff member we encountered was polite, professional, friendly and helpful * Decor: Hotel is cosy, has minimalist but modern design, looks very nice for a 3* venue * Cleanliness: Everything was spotless * Comfort: Soft comfy beds and lots of storage and surface space in the room * Price: Very reasonably priced for the quality and location, compared to other options What could be improved: * When we checked-in there was no soap in any of the dispensers and it only got replenished after several days once we asked for it directly. * Pillows are ridiculously thick, like sofa cushions. Got a neck cramp and headache from first night so opted to sleep on a rolled-up towel instead for the remainder of the stay. * Bathroom layout is not great - toilet is behind a glass door just a meter from the bed, so it doesn't leave much privacy or sound insulation. Shower floods the toilet area no matter how hard you try to avoid it, leaving a puddle right in front of the toilet. * Noise: Hotel is sound-insulated, but there was a lot of plumbing noise coming from the pipes in the bathroom at all hours - banging, hissing, screeching etc, like sleeping next to a loud fridge or boiler. The door between the lift and the floor, as well as other room doors make the room shake when they get shut, and we were unfortunate to have neighbours who were slamming doors relentlessly till 2am on our last night.

Easy access to hotel within Eindhoven downtown. Price was very competitive. Staff who greeted was helpful with checkin, and staff who checked us out were so friendly. Room seemed recently upgraded, bright and clean. Ideally would have been hot pot in room, but very adequate coffee/tea offered in lobby. Very pleased with our experience.

Does The Trick
Good spot to stay, especially if you plan on being outside of your room most of the time. Easy walking distance to many of the restaurant and terrace dining offered in the city. Just be cautious of the city parking. Unlike some European areas, this area still charges and tickets on Sundays. Will stay there next time I visit. Note: not only is this a good spot for city walking, it's also a easy place to get out of town from if you are planning day trips to other towns and attractions in the area.

only deserves one star
Great location but that is about all. Terrible bathroom, toilet faces beds with only a glass door in front, hardly any pressure in shower and slippery floor in an open shower. Mattresses very old . Not enough lights in dark room. No phone service, safety box broken. Room smells old and musty. Feel sorry for the nice people that have to work there.

Nice, clean hotel in great location
Just what I have been looking for - great location, not too expensive, clean and tidy. Staff very helpfull and nice. Would recomend.
