The Waterloo Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Comfortable room. Bath a bonus inclusive of specialty toiletries. Water view room sunrise. Good selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate, biscuits. Internet tv. Helpful staff - thank you Naomi at reception !!!!"
"The only rooms available had king beds but the room was a bit small for it. Not much room to walk around the bed. Also, there was a rail for hanging up clothes but no clothes hangers. Other wise all good spec and condition."
"The location was great. The bathroom is a very good size but there was nowhere to put shampoo etc. once in the shower. There was no soap/shower gel, no soap only a pump softsoap at the sink. Sink is cracked cracked but ok. The shampoo and conditioner pumps were a generous size. There was a heated towel rail which was needed. Tea and coffee and milk supplies were as usual, very generous milk bottle. There were mugs and tea cups and saucers. Quite sweet. Where the experience fell down was with the host. I received no communication re entry code. At the property a sign pointed to reception, there was no reception. The sign had a contact number, it was answered by an automated answering service but I was not connected to a real person. I tried twice. Once I got through to the host (via a phone number on the website which was the contact for the previous owner) the host helped me access my room. However, she blamed the previous owner and the platform and expressed no empathy or understanding. It's not nice, after driving on your own for hours, to arrive somewhere in the cold, with no obvious means of contacting the host. I hope these are teething issues and the host learns to manage the platform(s) and to be proactive in helping customers."
"Unbelievable view, overlooking the bay. The little cabin we stayed in was perfect for us as we were only staying one night. The 4km drive up the driveway was exciting, but once there, the resort is amazing, with so many interesting sculptures. This is a fabulous experience; the restaurant/lounge area was perfect for relaxing. We didn't eat at the restaurant, only because Japanese was not my husband's preference, but we did eat our breakfast there, which was included in our stay, a mix of continental with a choice of four hot options also.
Totally recommend this choice of accommodation."
"A great stay. Clean refurnished rooms. With the use of a lounge and kitchen . It ment we could relax and enjoy a cuppa in comfort. An interesting village to explore"
"Wonderful property, staff and restaurant. Third time stayed in 4 years, this time in a bay/beach view spa suite. Peaceful with thoughtful additions (eg in-room breakfast provisions including incredibly delicious Huon & Me sourdough crumpets) and elegant finishes. Extreme comfort. I didn't want to leave after my 2 nights. We will be back."
