The First Colony Inn

"I went on a 3 night solo vacation to the beach. It was the perfect proximity to walk to the beach, Jeannette’s Pier, breakfast and dinner locations, and ice cream at Booty Treats. It was beautifully maintained with a great pool. The private walkway to the beach was convenient and easy to access. The staff were super helpful and accommodating. The room was comfortable and quiet. I loved that there was a Keurig and mini fridge in my room. The only thing I’d change about this place is the shower head. The shower is a little tight, which is not an issue, but the shower head doesn’t move and it a little intense on the pressure without a way to escape it without turning the water off while washing your hair. A smaller, removable shower head would be ideal for this kind of shower for sure. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone and absolutely plan to go back and stay again."

"The Sea Foam Motel is a hidden gem. It's our favorite place to be when we visit the OBX. The staff are very personable, friendly, and down to earth! Their rates are very affordable to be right on the beach and includes a pool! We love that they are pet friendly. Our little fur babies absolutely love it there! We are hooked and will be life-long quests! Our next trip is already booked!"

"Was able to upgrade to one of the cottages for our stay, which was great, loved being able to park our bikes right in front of our door. The guy at the front desk was super nice and very respectful of my time. Got me in and out at check in super quick. The showers a little small, which was a little hard to get in as a larger person. Wish the walls were just a bit thicker bc I could hear everything from our neighbors in the evening and when they got up super early in the mornings, but a good set of ear plugs helped. The kitchen as a great addition to not have to pay for eating out every meal. Definitely can use some silverware updates and a can opener would have been nice to have, the one in the room was broken and definitely never cleaned. Also a sponge to do the dishes would have been a help. Bed was a little on the harder side. But overall it was a great stay for our long weekend."
