The location can’t be beat. This is an Airbnb type property and the office isn’t staffed - I missed the message sent from them in advance of check in so we had to wait for someone to come over to check us in (about 20 mins) The building is old and a bit dirty but the room was cool - high ceilings, overlooking the street, great old marble floors etc. The breakfast is included at a little coffee shop a couple doors down and was adequate.

Unfortunately, this stay was not a good one. They didn’t get the air conditioning to work properly until the last day even though they were told it was not running cold. No hot water the entire time and refrigerator was not working and they were told day one. They told us that some of the sockets blew but they were not quick to solve the problem.

Nobody to open at the arrival,manager was called by a business owner from downstairs , fridge ,hairdryer not working,defective lock at the room door and apartment entrance sometimes did not open b/c it was locked from inside , water on the bathroom floor probably from a broken water pipe that is not fixed.Loose handle almost breaking in pieces at the balcony door.On the service section of the property description is breakfast but non existing in reality.This property is neglected and not customer friendly.

I didn’t feel safe. It’s old and dirty! The sheets were not changed!! Don’t be fooled by the pictures! Plugs didn’t work! No ventilation unless you open the door. No windows. So noisy people opening doors and slamming them. You can hear people walk up and down the stairs. When you walk in it’s like you’re walking in a scary movie! when you know the bad guy is by the stairs! It was very creepy! The guy that check us in was very nice but thats the nicest thing I have to say about this place! Please don’t book here! Not a hotel it’s more like a room in a random house. Just dirty. Expedia needs to double check this place before putting it on here for other customers.

This is a challenging one to review. You cannot beat the location and old world charm of this place. The small balcony was perfect for enjoying a nightcap. However, my first impression of the old dark stairwell and going through the office to reach the room were unexpected. The shower leaked (inside shower), the door fell off and backed-up immediately. Upon further inspection, the room was clean, but a white duvet would have gone a long way in giving the impression of cleanliness. Overall, we would stay again with managed expectations.

The location is great very near the Duomo and great museums. It does not have a front desk so if you don’t have their phone number handy or data it can be a challenge to get in. I only found out there as they did not contact me via hotels.com to let me know. We did not get our rooms cleaned for 2 days in a row out of 5 and we were not told. I think there was a holiday. The room was nice but it needs a bit of maintenance as bathroom shower was leaking and wasting water. It’s ok but it could be better. Then the breakfast is in a bar 50 meters away, it’s basic, just a pastry and a hot drink and the service is not very friendly as if they do not like getting people with breakfast vouchers. So we needed up going elsewhere and paying for our own breakfast.

Our room absolutely had bed bugs. Room was poorly cleaned from the previous guests, I found multiple pieces of trash from a previous guest including a pack of cigs and plastic cutlery. Room was nice but again, bed bugs.

The room was beautifully decorated. The building itself, much like many accommodation options in Florence, is old. However, Cavour 10 has done a great job trying to maintain the authentic and historical design of the buildings decorations- providing rooms filled with gorgeous tiles, painted ceilings, and decorative wallpaper. While to some this may feel 'dirty' because it is 'old', as seen in other reviews, the room itself is actually very clean and stylish. The caretaker is also absolutely lovely and so willing to accommodate your needs! The location is also a huge plus- you can easily walk to all of the major sites from this location!

The room was nice but 2 outlets were not working so cannot charge the phone and computer. The bathroom and the room has no garbage can. The toilet was dirty in the bottom. The toiletries and soap ledge was very rusty. It wasn’t quiet like said. There’s a lot of yelling from outside my window even at 2am. Had a hard time sleeping.

Description of "hotel" listed daily housekeeping, laundry services, breakfast included, 37" plasma TV, refrigerator, room service, view of a garden, non-smoking, free bottled water. IT HAS NONE OF THESE THINGS! This isn't a hotel. It is an Airbnb. The host, Gonzalo, was there to check us in but was never seen again. He answered our text about the wifi password, but never responded to any further texts. We had to refill our toilet paper ourselves during the stay. The view was of a small courtyard with a tree and a view of cigarette butts tossed onto a ledge below from prior "non-smoking" occupants. The bathroom in our Standard Double room was microscopic and is nothing like the spacious rooms featured in the pictures on the website. The shower head was broken. The entire room itself measured 10'x13'. The sewer smell in the stairwell seems to be a constant based on other reviews from prior years. We will be filing for a refund from our credit card.

Check in can be a nightmare. Make sure you communicate with them of your arrival time because no one is there otherwise. We weren’t aware of this and even though they had reached out to us we were already out of the country and in flight and never got their message. So when we arrived no one was here to let us in and the number given to us and posted outside didn’t work! We felt stranded! Luckily there was a maintenance guy there who was able to help us and call owner. The location is good. Just steps away from the duomo. There’s a great restaurant right across the street. And the breakfast included at the cafe down the street is nice. But the street is busy. If you have one of the rooms on the street side it gets noisy! If you’re a light sleeper absolutely do not sleep here! The walls are extremely thin. You hear everyone coming and going and all the kids in the streets late at night walking home screaming, singing, laughing, as well as every single car, bike and bus that goes by. The room was clean but rustic. A few things weren’t working but the host was quick to help. There is barely any hot water for your shower in the morning. My side of the bed was very comfortable but my husbands side of the bed I think was broken because it squeaked every time he moved. We were here for 5 nights and no one came to freshen up our towels, clean our room or make our bed. Which I guess was fine, although 5 nights is a long time to go without a cleaning.

To begin, aside from being a scam due to the description and past reviews about conditions and locks/electrical/ac issues there is also theft with the housekeeping. We currently are investigating and requesting a refund due to multiple reasons as apparently past guests have experienced similar issues (over past years) which I’ve spoken with Expedia.Upon arrival in 95 degree weather no ac or power in building due to “construction issues “.However reviews going back years state same issues which means property is not safe or maintained.AC was fixed by late evening however appliances,outlets and Wi-Fi all not working. Towel’s never changed.Floors dirty plus furniture.Fridge stop working.No Wi-Fi for 4 of 5 days plus only 2 working outlets.More importantly this is NOT a hotel or bed and breakfast as listed.Definitely no room service as listed(can’t even get coffee refills).Laundry means you walk 5-6 blocks to do yourself.Lock to room is unsecure, plus you’re able to completely see through to room.Cracked glass in bathroom window. Taped outlet near sink.Slow draining shower.Entry to building is pitch black walking up a flight of stairs.Now to the theft. We were told not possible as Gonzalo knew housekeeping girls.Upon saying we were contacting authorities, we were told, oh yes, well they did take your items but mistakenly took them astrash which were on top of our suitcase!We’re told by Gonzalo money would be refunded from cleaning company, however nothing plus blocked calls. Good 4-night stay. Room was large and clean. Check-in was easy and communication through WhatsApp was smooth and helpful. Great location for exploring the city. We especially loved having a balcony, used it often. There’s an excellent restaurant right across the street (Cantinetta Cavour), which was a nice bonus, but it’s Florence and there’s solid options on every block. As noted by others, breakfast is minimal and served at a nearby café, but the staff there were friendly and we got into a nice routine: americano to go with a quick croissant, and it worked just fine for us.
