The hotel is off on a back alley which put us off at first. The location turned out to be very convenient. The hotel is no frills and doesn’t loon like the presenting photo. But it was fine for our needs. I would stay there again.

Pleasant stay

We had a very pleasant stay in Esperanza. The hotel service was excellent, the receptionist showed and recommended to us places to go and where to eat. The location is very good close to mostly museums and center. I can only recommend this hotel.

The hotel has all the essentials you need for a great trip to Florence. The room had air conditioning, which was such a blessing in the heat. It is very close to most of the sites, meaning, if you get too hot, just pop back for a break in the air conditioned room. It is very close to the train station also. The staff were lovely. The room also had a lovely balcony.

Title: Terrible Experience at Hotel Esperanza, Florence We had a terrible and unpleasant experience at Hotel Esperanza. We chose this property because it was rated 9 out of 10 on Expedia, but our stay was extremely disappointing from the start. First, the hotel is very hard to find — there’s no visible sign and it looks more like a row of parking garages than a hotel entrance. The lobby is on the second floor with no elevator, and guests must climb steep stairs just to check in. When we asked if there were accessible rooms for disabled guests, the receptionist was extremely rude, saying, “If you don’t like it, you can leave without a refund.” We contacted Expedia for help, but they couldn’t resolve the issue. Shockingly, the receptionist even placed a disabled guest on the fourth floor (which is actually the third floor of the hotel due to the lobby layout). Our room was dirty, the mattress uncomfortable, and the bathroom smelled terrible — you couldn’t sleep unless you kept the bathroom door closed because of the odor. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We would strongly advise against staying here, especially for anyone with mobility issues or expectations of basic hospitality.

Nice room, clean with all the amenities needed. There is no elevator, so it is 65 steps to get to the third floor. Access to parking is hard and driving in the historic part of the city is difficult, so better to get walking, taxi or public transit.

Hotel Esperanza is truly an amazing hotel! The rooms are super comfortable and very clean. Everything has been thought through for the guests' convenience. The staff, in particular, is so attentive, always trying to assist with anything. You really feel at home here. Also, the hotel's location is fantastic! It's very close to the city center, which makes it easy to get to all the places you want to visit. So, you're not only comfortable but also get a great opportunity to explore the city. Not too far from the main train station if you don't have heavy luggage to drag. It is on the first floor. There is no elevator. Reception is open from 0800-2000. Out of hours check in and check out has to be pre arranged. Reception staff is very friendly. You will be welcomed with a broad smile and an espresso. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bathroom is contemporary and clean. Most round are on 2nd and 3rd floor. Choose this for the convenience. River, most attractions, eating places and shopping places are within 1-1.5 km distance.
