I think for the price you pay to stay at the The Westin, Valet parking is way overpriced.

This is the worst WESTIN Hotel we have ever stayed in.
The property is Old and badly in need of a total renovation.

Horrible experience for such an expensive hotel. We spent just one night but the worst was that there was no air conditioning at all in the whole building the whole night!!!! The room windows were somehow locked, the temperature inside the room reached 82 degrees and the humidity was unbearable.
When we complained during check out the lady at the counter just said OK all I can do is not to charge you for the resort fee ($42 plus tax), but now I got their invoice by e-mail showing they did charge me for that "resort fee". Never stay there, you're going to be very disappointed!

Check in was quick, adequately staffed with very professional people. The hotel's location was excellent as was a sense of security. It's wasn't Spring Break so I think considerably quieter than it could be. The staff at the Lavazza coffee kiosk were tops. The Mexican restaurant on the first floor was excellent (make reservations for outside seating). Atmosphere was excellent.
Now for the bad. It was my wife and I's anniversary and my wife wanted an ocean view room. I made reservations for two queen beds (I'm an active sleeper and I snore.) and ocean view. Hotel management tried to do something special by giving us a suite, king size bed, and intercoastal waterway view. Totally unsatisfactory! We were able to get things changed to what we wanted to begin with (Thank you, Anna!!). No suite but my wife had her ocean view which was critical. The room was excellent except the louvered bathroom door. Any noise or light bleeds into the room. Wife didn't care for that but dealt with it. Room was kept clean by commendable service staff. The smoking area meant banishment to the parking garage but all of Ft. Lauderdale is anti-tobacco, cigarette or cigar.
Check out was quick and easy. Parking fee ($55/day) seems excessive but there is no or next to no parking close in the area. This is something someone could better plan.

We had an excellent stay, and loved almost every aspect of the hotel. The location is perfect, as we could walk to many restaurants and stores.The only thing we'd do different would be to buy our own spirits and mixers, and just bring a cup down from the room. The $15 cocktails were a bit pricey for their quality, but that is "tourist trap" nitpicking. The food at Lona was exceptional. Get up early to reserve chairs poolside to guarantee a spot. The steak tacos were delicious. We will be returning.

The restaurant attached to the hotel is probably one of the best in the area, and the hotel was very clean. The views are great from the rooms and going to the beach is really convient

I loved everything about my stay. The check in with Marla was fast and easy she was really nice and knowledgeable. The rolm was clean . The view of the pool and beach was amazing. The restaurant down stairs lula the staff wasnt all that friendly. My second time going my friend and i walked out after 20 mins of waiting no one ever came to take our order. The food was decent the first time.

We are told that chairs and towels at the beach and pool are complimentary; however at check out I was informed there is a $75 fee each day for this service! This is ridiculous as that is not complimentary and it was NEVER communicated when we checked in. Additionally, when going to the pool, you are met with a security guard that asks your name and room number to be admitted. and because there is a line with others who can hear you telling the guard, someone used my name to charge cocktails and get towels! I am currently disputing the $54 charge on my credit card!
The hotel was clean, and the staff were accommodating but your service protocols are not complimentary and having a security guard at the door entering a pool area makes you feel like you are in a third world country!

The hotel was overpriced for what it was. The furniture was a little dated and there wasn't any update charging ports in the room. Area around the bathroom was quite loud from room above through the exhaust vents in the bathroom. You can hear conversations clear as day.

The hotel is excellent, but there is a “waiting list” to get chairs an umbrellas in the beach. Today we are number 40 in that list, incredible. Three days in a round and we were unable to get them.

We LOVED this property! Pool was lovely and the food at the outdoor restaurant by the pool was amazing. Beautiful view and awesome clean rooms. Great gym and on the calmer side of the boardwalk. We will def stay again.
